Its the Blackpool Mecca reunion this weekend,so much stuff came out of this place.I only went a couple of times ,so aint no expert but what are your top 3 Mecca sounds and maybe the worst, Chris

I also love the Bob Relf and Four Larks records of course (both sides) but I don't associate them with the Mecca because the playlist was more modern when I first went there in 1974 or 1975.

That's true, Dave, most people focus on the Mecca's modern period.

I think it was early 75 when I first went. They were playing 'The Trip' at the time (very controversial).

So I'd already heard Bob Relf and The Four Larks etc from youth clubs and venues such as the Pendulum, never really thinking where they originated.

Yes early 75, when Dave Mitchell was being played.

I remember I.L. playing it and saying if only Wigan had this, a few weeks later it was being played at Wigan.:laugh:
