ulyssees
Hi Dean Parrish was played as the last Wigan record from the 3rd 'nighter onwards, used to know what the last ones were before that but have forgotten. I seem to remember Jimmy Radcliff added soon after that, (as a tribute to the Wheel I always assumed as that was thier last sound) and then a few months later Tobi Legend. Soulsider
Gerri Grainger "I Go To Pieces" followed later as the "4th" before 8 around 1977? Maybe... Link to comment Social source share
Guest DaveSwift
Nobody else is sure so i'll just add what i remember. I think I'm On My Way was played last record on 1st night. The record had been played for a few months but only seemed to kick off big that first Wigan nighter. Jimmy Radcliffe's was probably the most common 'ender' record and it started to become standard for these to be the last two records. I can't remember exactly when Tobi Legend joined these two probably a couple of months later (November 73) but i could be corrected on that one. Ged Parker
Russ started playing them..................................... .....................about 7:53 a.m. I've no idea they were well established before I started going. As Mick said Gerri Grainger followed as an extra one in the last four. It was on / after the 5th anniversary where the Casino Clasics release of Gerri Grainger was given away as a freebee. manus
Gerri Grainger "I Go To Pieces" followed later as the "4th" before 8 around 1977? Maybe... I remember joking at the time that if they continued adding records to the ender list that the first one on it would eventually be the first record of the night.
