Recommended Posts

good pass on

leads to this article

Washington, 72, pastor of New Beginning Baptist Church in Topeka, had his brush with fame in the mid-1960s when he cut a few soul records and produced some others on the Prophonics label, based in Flint, Mich.

He said Marvin Gaye, with whom he attended high school in Washington, D.C., helped line up an audition with Motown Records in the mid-1960s. Washington said Motown offered him a contract.

Instead of jumping at the opportunity

Great picture would have been nice to see him over here. Think there would be a few offers to buy that copy in mint condition.

Cheers Pete.
