This sound had an immediate impact on me ..but do you like me think the lady singing it is in her twilight years , after hearing it a few times I get this image of us all sitting in Parker Knolls swinging from side to side when she sings the bit ...now here we go

I would love to hear this by a younger artists , and no disrespect to who is singing it I bet in her prime she was awesome but I keep seeing a Gracie Fields type character singing this song ?

Has the speeding up attempt been made to make the voice sound younger ?

If it's the one I'm thinking of Margie Singleton was a cover-up name I gave it years ago.

Thats one of the tracks we talked about at Va Va Voom a couple of yrs ago Ady, one of the best me thinks, you told me who it really is also

Don't think it needs any more speed tho! not for my old legs anyway

So if not  Margie Singleton who is it and I agree with Arthur no need for any speeding up.

I agree with you Carms, it's actually by a fine soul singer but there's something a bit square about it

Ady, was there a name on the master tape or did you just make it up as it was an unknown artist & title?

There was a name but I think whoever passed the music on made up Margie Singleton.
