:hatsoff2:HI ALL ...Half the year has gone by, and that means there has been loads of great records, that you have posted in the SOULSOURCE RECORD OF THE DAY,

Just a quick reminder of the rules:-

1, it was intended that any record posted, was from out of your box, and you found it,as a must DJ record,

but you feel it would be more suitable for the SOULSOURCE IN-CROWD,

2.IF POSSIBLE JUST GIVE A TICK IN THE LIKE BOX, RATHER THAN WRITEING GREAT CHUNE, & DOWNLOADING THE RECORD, AS IT P**SES THE MODERATORS OFF?

3, PLEASE ADD AS MUCH INFO WHEN POSTING, INCLUDING A GUESTAMOUNT PRICE & RAREITY.

4. IF YOU LIKE THE SOUND, OR HAVE MORE INFO, PLEASE ADD TO THE THREAD.

5. MAY i THANK YOU ALL FOR ALL THE GREAT RECORDS POSTED, ECLICTIC IS COOL!

My pick to start us of, is the A side of the record I picked yesterday, DONNIE ELBERT - GET READY - CBS.

VALUE £10 ISSUE, DEMO £30 TODAY, A great double cider and cheap to boot, enjoy the summer

AS ALWAYS  DAVE K

like it better than Harold Burrage posted that a few week ago but think this sounds Better IMO

have both on my TT regularly, Harold is a little smoother, perhaps a better mid-tempo dancer for today, Otis is harder and grittier. They can both be had EX+ with change from a fiver!

Cissy Houston - I'm So Glad I Can Love Again - Liked this as soon as i heard it so made this, n cheap as chips.

Been trying to track this down on You Tube (but it's not on??) since Mark posted his David Ruffin track the other day. This is another cheapie of his I've played out a few times & another belter imo.

Earth Wind And Fire - Happy Feeling - Back to Cleethorpes in the 70s from me and fond memories, big record in it's day.

A Stafford tune from me today, one that I used to love, and i've just got a new copy of it at last too (Cheers Pete!)

Little Charles & the Sidewinders - Got My Own Thing Going

Another down-tempo gem.

Allison and Calvin Turner - Yeah memories - Lulu

Nice track Andy, but I think I prefer the Lew Kirton version. Certainly love the label (Marlin) and the fantastic ballad on the flip "do what you want, be what you are"

Yes Frankie is on Turbo. Not much in it but think you are right Frankie is probably a touch faster, also Willie doesn't have all the background crowd whooping & shouting. It's a much copied variation of "Tighten Up".

:g: HI ALL MMMMMMMmmmmmmmm  I WAS TO DO SOMETHING? IT'LL COME TO ME!...........

 Early on I added this record to the thread on JACKIE EDWARDS, however after 3 phone calls received. I think I should of stocked up on it, however?

The record was a very poor seller on release, for some of you out there, you may have got into this one about 2 years ago if you are on the UNDERGROUND SOUL IN-CROWD? or like me had records sold records, reminded about records that you have sold, and re discovered it, after playing TIGHTEN UP LP's. As a lover of both soul & reggae, who gets confused by the renaming of music styles, as i love the term norther soul, but hate the racist tag skinhead reggae, this record should be given the category "TIP TOP XOVER CHUNE" As that's exactly what it is, an a must for collectors to own, and play it LOUD!!

JACKIE EDWARDS - I DO LOVE YOU c/w WHO TOLD YOU SO- BREAD BR-1100. Rated******6 stars? - Value £15 yesterday (been told that it is worth much more, from to-day?) D the DRUG Say's don't delay & buy to-day! ENJOY THIS ONE :boxing: DAVE
