Just back from dinner at a mate's and over numerous bottles of wine the debate was in his view that both artist's are the same on this track . It was recorded between DEE leaving the Roulette label after numerous hits and was recorded just before he was signed to Jubilee .

In a nutshell I said they're different or words to that effect !!!

Joey Gee I'm sure was only about 14, did have an article or was told some info but seem to have forgotten or mislaid.

About 10 years ago I wanted a copy of "Joey Gee-It's more than I deserve".

One Wilton I'd given a lift to some of the Preston lot. One guy was an avid collector (Joan ask tony who it was, as I told him this tale recently!) and on the journey over there I told him if you see one for sale,please tell me, as i'd just missed buying one off Kyle McGill (RIP) recently.

Come the morning 6am, getting everyone together I noticed he had bought about 5 records so asked him what he'd bought.

You guessed it there was a copy of Joey Gee. I thought great I'll have to stop at a cash machine in order to pay him. He said it was for him and not for me. I wasn't too sure if he was joking or not. The journey back I kept saying you got it for me did'nt you. He just laughed.

As I dropped him off last, I thought he is going to say here you are, take it, I was having you on.

No he kept it!

Because of this memory I hate the record now and never want to own one now!

I always remember Mr Brady playing this one? Got Pat on an old live tape playing it somewhere from mid 80's...wasn't Stafford on this occasion was the Regency suite across the road from Hinckley leisure Centre...in fact was this live tape I did that made me buy a nice demo in about 89...still have it!

I thought female too lol and bloody hell I played it when I dj'd mid 9t's.. I've never thought male but then again, I thought Barry White was a bird till his voice broke.. It was written by Larry Kusik & Richie Adams so lyrics would be from a male perspective? Maybe Joey is really called Josie but has been trapped in the body of a girl all through puberty?? I'm sure I remember her/him on Jerry Springer, you know what I'm saying girlfriend
