Wondered if many of you have ever started out not liking a record and then eventualy liking it ?

I had a problem with Guitar Ray years ago I found the record so depressing I just could not appreciate it at all , kept thinking of someone going down into the cellar and hanging himslef with the laundry  .... but I now really like hearing it and watching so many others always singing along to it .

Do you have one that made you turn around so to speak ?

I never ever like the Ojays - ill never forget you, Jock used to play it as near the last record at Allanton nighters...it was a monster tune and filled the floor. It's only the last 2 or 3 years that I've come to appreciate what a fabulous tune it is....I absolutely adore it now. It's only taken 20 years..lol

However, never liked the Beatles... and still don't...and never will. Can't say that there's any particular Northern track that I have so disliked and then changed my mind. After all, I've always disliked Tim, Tam and the Tampons , sorry , Turn-ups and will never like it. :D

First few times I heard 'Suffering wrath' I didn't really get it - and them WHAM! It hit me !

Same with Rae Flores !

Shameful behaviour I know !

Ed and Ernie (indication) with its frankly rambling bad melody structure or the Q (splurgy all over the place off the wall instrumental break) etc, maybe something about quirkiness that appeals to me (or just my bad taste!)

Laine Hill - Time marches on

Always was a belting record... wish I still had it. Then again, wish I still had half the stuff I've had... but then again, would I use it? NO! Therefore I don't miss it (says he trying to convince himself that he did the best thing at the time) :(

Nope... still sh*t.... - I don't mind the version without all the girly background singing though.

I did used to 'dislike' (hate is such a harsh word) Dave Mitchell & The Screamers - The Trip, but think it's really jolly good now! Never owned one though... hmmm maybe it should go on my shopping list.

There's a really rare, first label release of this, only ever seen it once, on the "P.S." label, dark blue label.

Every days a school day - I never knew that. Just thought it was the Gold MET (?) release - and the black pressing of course

this was on ebay a while ago, i,m sure i asked on here if it was a boot, also sure it went for a tenner or something similar, played it to a few "jazz types" i work with who wanted to know if the weird banging noises towards the end are a trait of northern soul

I recently heard Trickster play Dooley Silverspoon - Game Players on Banbury Internet Radio and that tune has something about it which I completely missed when it was played on release. It's definately one of those which has improved with age. Bought a copy recently for 99p and was pleased to find that the flip is good too.

I don't know about from a dislike to like but these days I can just about stand listening to Sam Fletcher's I'd Think It Over Twice. :(
