the "chills n' fever" man?, what a great club tune that was in its day....another unsung hero joins the heavenly choir.

"The upset"lesser played killer mid tempo track by him on Lloyd records,apparently made before "chills and fever",quite rare too.On you tube though.

Thanks to Sean and the lads his 'You Make Me Tremble' from 'Hooked Hogtied And Collared' has been an anthem at 'Just Soul' at Retford these past three years - get and out and celebrate this music whilst you can.

as that was 6 weeks ago, has there since been word elsewhere on this?

Can't find anything on the net about his passing .... AND ...

... as he had 9 US Soul 45 Chart entries, you would have thought that the US music press would have reported his passing.

yep thats why think maybe better if nothing elsewhere apart from the brief wikipedia entry that treat things with a bit of caution till confirmed

Jeff Lemlich did say something and read bit elsewhere but seen little else.

My friend called Willie Clarke who confirmed that Paul Kelly has passed.

Do you have any details on when & the cause ? (I know he had been ill for some time).

I asked my friend, will post details if he responds.

He says Willie Clarke says it was yesterday

apparently willie clarke just heard yesterday. I have no idea if it was on the date of the wikipedia page or not but apparently neither does one of the producers and writers of "the upset"

"Chills & Fever" did well on the radio up in New York ....

... probably due to Atlantic distributing Dial & getting behind the 45 ...

... guess that exposure helped in Paul's later decision to relocate to the city ....
