when you put up a want on here,

why does everyone think you are some mug and try to sell you something overpriced.

i thought this was a site for like minded collectors etc...

nearly everytime i have put up a want here im expected to pay either through the nose

or higher.

moan over!!!

Overpriced is almost as bad as not getting a reply on your want. Almost.

ha ha yes mate, id rather not get a reply than someone think im a rich idiot...

I just politely say no when i get offered something i consider too high.

And on the other side of the coin, when i offer stuff that others think is too high i expect a polite refusal

Simples

you could always counter-offer too; never hurts to ask, as they say.

Because you want it, presumably you can't get it (hence your need to post up a want), they have it and you don't. Basic market economics mate.

yes i agree with mark its like putting a record up for bid or offers and them saying how much do you want for it , answer as much as possible thats not being greedy imho, col

The one I find a little frustrating is when folk come back with make me an offer for it, when its obviously not a tune that would normally be up for offers.......altho its the sellers perogative to do what ever they want within reason of course.

sure i can go on ebay or one of the other sites and get a record i want but at full whack...or more than full whack

or i can try on here........maybe its just me, just not had that many good deals i guess...

had plenty of good deals on here from the likes of Pete Smith, Butch, Des Parker etc, when i have put out a want, and many others too, but agree some come back with prices higher than a lot of dealers lol

And its about time everybody else did, PM's being ignored is a real wind up.

Plus whilst waiting for a reply on a want, what happens if somebody else wants it

as happened to me a couple of weeks ago.

Like a mug I didnt offer it to the second guy as I had already offered it to someone

who I was waiting to reply.Probably lost a sale.

ever so slightly off topic,the thing that really bugged me is when a sales was posted up, and i pm,d saying i,d take said record ....No reply..then a week later the same record appears again...at a higher price ..

cheers fellas, i didnt want to start a rant fest!! just thought id say my previous expierences...

everyones got their opinions and of course if someone has a record and wants to overprice it, thats up to them...

i shall keep on searching those good prices, like we all do (i think)

It works both ways. I've replied to a want with a fair price, often cheaper than it is worth yet those asking think they can take the p*ss because we are all fellow members of soul source and tell you they are only willing to pay what amounts to two thirds its actual value. I've stopped responding to many wants and I know others have too.

It would save all the hassle if those asking for a want gave a price they were willing to pay.
