Posted April 13, 200619 yr Georgie Fame 'Daylight' Island Picked this up recently and it really is a rather excellent Modern soul dancer. A cover of a Bobby Womank tune (which I wasn't aware of before). Still a cheap and easy record to find, released on a UK Island 45 & a limited edition 12" as well which is the same length as the 45 I think. I'll add a soundclip if anyone is interested.

April 16, 200619 yr Thanks for the info Frank.......i wouldnt mind that Swedish Columbia 45....is it easy to track down? I have a copy and I think it's a great version of "Sweet Thing". It very seldom turns up for sale here in Sweden, think I've only ever seen 2-3 other copies for sale during the past 10 years.

Always liked his version of 'Sitting In The Park ' mainstream yes but one of the best guys we've got! ATB RIch

April 20, 200619 yr While the Bobby Womack original of "DAYLIGHT" is by far the best ,the biggest dance version was the Warren Schatz produced Vickyi Sue Robinson version which tore up the floors in 1976.............."here we go again............."
