April 20, 200619 yr Fast and furious Simon, I like it. Excellant dancer played it twice and liked it better 2nd time around.
April 20, 200619 yr Fast and furious Simon, I like it. Excellant dancer played it twice and liked it better 2nd time around. I agree, better with time. Don't think I'd try too hard to buy a copy but good nonetheless. Goes well with your avatar too! John.
April 20, 200619 yr I think it gets better the more times you hear it too, Dawn. I even started to warm to the very wobbly vocals.
April 20, 200619 yr I think it gets better the more times you hear it too, Dawn. I even started to warm to the very wobbly vocals. I quite liked the wobbly vocals! Can't decide if I like it or not, but I have certainly heard MUCH MUCH worse records played out

April 20, 200619 yr 104 downloads and only 6 comments ! Is that good or bad or....indifferent ? Apparently the 45 has just gone for four figures...
April 20, 200619 yr Too poppy for me. Sounds like Belle and the Devotions or similar UK pop-soul. Sorry ROD
April 20, 200619 yr Is it Peters & Lee without Peters, but with some of Lee's sisters? I can't quite place the singer, but she is quite well known; I can picture her now, a big helga of a woman, blackheads and a grimassing face! natalie imbruglia? Edited April 22, 200619 yr by Simon T
April 20, 200619 yr I quite like the strummy guitar and fast drumming, but the vocals do let it down. She can't keep up with the energy of the band unfortunately. M.
April 20, 200619 yr I'm not sure about this one. It's the type of sound I can never decide if I think is good or bad. Any opinions ? I'd definitely give it a whirl on the floor to this one - probably end up spewing my guts up though at that pace though However, I wouldnt burst a gut trying to track it down though.

April 20, 200619 yr I'm not sure about this one. It's the type of sound I can never decide if I think is good or bad. Any opinions ? Hello Simon, Is it good or is it bad? That's the question. The answer, in one word, is "yes" and "no". As in "Yes, it's pretty bad" and "No, it isn't very good". Paul Mooney
April 20, 200619 yr Goodish vocals... totally undancable even by good shuffler standards if you're dancing to the top layer beat... crazy!
April 21, 200619 yr I've been asked if i wouldn't mind taking the soundfile off the posting by someone who's not a member the the list , presumably to protect the investment ! Thanks for all the comments.
April 21, 200619 yr I've been asked if i wouldn't mind taking the soundfile off the posting by someone who's not a member the the list , presumably to protect the investment ! Thanks for all the comments. That's not right is it? We're not even allowed to express an opinion on someone's new find now? Not blaming you Simon but I'm surprised you took it off considering what you said on an earlier thread and plus if the person involved is not even a member of soul source surely they have no right to dictate what goes on on here? Do they own the copyright? I think people who are scared others will pick up their new discoveries should post only snippets in future. It's not like we even had a label, artist or even title etc... If i hear it out i won't be dancing to it in protest. It wasn't that great anyway.
April 21, 200619 yr you did ask more people to give opinions & often I'm not fussed either way so I dont, but I thought that was absolutely rancid, sorry.
April 21, 200619 yr I'm not sure about this one. It's the type of sound I can never decide if I think is good or bad. Any opinions ? I recognise it, but can't put a name to it yet. Must have been something that I had when I was collecting in the 1970's. Don't push your luck, I'll have to get my thinking cap on. I would say that the record isn't worth the debate anyway, and that anyone paying 4 figures for it is just mad. That's just my humble opinion of course. If it was a tenner I wouldn't buy it.
April 22, 200619 yr Is it Rene & Renata, without Rene, but with the sound engineer wearing his jumper with the rose stuck up his arse?
April 22, 200619 yr lol- time to take it down i think before i get into bother.... I know what it is, it's the follow up to 'Sing Little Birdy' by Pearl Carr & Teddy Rodgers, but with out Pearl! Edited April 22, 200619 yr by Simon T
April 22, 200619 yr i'm told its a detroit record, produced by a major detroit name....maybe he was having an off day.....
April 22, 200619 yr i'm told its a detroit record, produced by a major detroit name.... General 'Motors' Johnson with Henry Ford on triangle?
April 22, 200619 yr Apparently the 45 has just gone for four figures... Is that 4 figures or 4 fingers of Madam Palm? He can have a studio acetate of me strumming my prepuce for £999!
April 22, 200619 yr Seriously though Simon, it's not a track by Sylvia Bennet is it? I know she was produced by Frank Wilson in the eighties.
April 23, 200619 yr I'm not sure about this one. It's the type of sound I can never decide if I think is good or bad. Any opinions ? Sounds like a poor mans version of Dionne Warwick on ACID ARRANGEMENT IFFY VOCALS SNATCHED AND OUT OF TUNE But if cleaned up and revocalised could be passable IMO
April 23, 200619 yr I know what it is, it's the follow up to 'Sing Little Birdy' by Pearl Carr & Teddy Rodgers, but with out Pearl! Teddy Johnson actually, Simon You have to be careful with Eurovision stuff - the fans are even more rabid than the people on here! Godz

April 23, 200619 yr Teddy Johnson actually, Simon You have to be careful with Eurovision stuff - the fans are even more rabid than the people on here! Godz You're right, I must have been thinking of Ted Rodgers and 3-2-1 due to it simularity to his show's theme tune!
April 23, 200619 yr 104 downloads and only 6 comments ! Is that good or bad or....indifferent ? Apparently the 45 has just gone for four figures... Like somebody else said, don't normally comment but since you seem to keen to hear from people listening, its absolutely awful, even with your pop hat on you surely can't like this. Sounds like it was recorded on one of those karaoke machines, sometime last week, oops sorry wrong thread Cheers Jock
April 27, 200619 yr Bloody awful mate, I heard a better tune today sung by a pissed soaked tramp outside Mcdonalds :-) Col
April 27, 200619 yr SOUNDS LIKE IT WAS RECORDED SOME WHERE IN WEST LONDON LAST WEEK. WHAT IAN BEEN UP TO IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS?????????
April 28, 200619 yr Ouch! sounds like Levine is really taking the pi88 Dont play it out!!! Awfull really and a total waste of studio time and money! No way is that Detroit soul and if it is everyones gone to the moon!
