..... and he was a thoroughly nice guy too. When I spoke to him for Manifesto he cared about two things only. His mother who he was caring for and his life as a trucker. He had no interest in his singing career no matter how good we on the soul scene think his records are.

100% agree with Dave on HTG. It was one of those sounds I'd make a B-line for the dancefloor for. Strange Change had a massive impact on me when I first heard it around 1977-8. There's been so very few of those down years... RIP Herb.
