After his 1st book (Carolina Beach Music: the Classic Years) on the subject sold well, Rick Simmons has penned a 2nd effort .........

Carolina Beach Music from the '60s to the '80s: The New Wave

His new effort is already available from Amazon & similar outlets

......... https://www.amazon.co...61256436&sr=1-1

Rick's 1st book attempted to explain 'Beach Music' by reviewing a whole list of tracks that have enjoyed enduring popularity on the Beach Music Scene.

Run down his list & its easy to see the links between NS & Beach .......

.. BTW, you can still buy his 1st book, Amazon have it listed.

BTW, the new book follows a similar format to his 1st one.

He reviews lots of tracks that became popular on the 'Beach music scene' after the classic years.

These include efforts by the likes of Barbara Acklin, the Esquires, THE FUTURES, HOT CHOCOLATE, the Poets, Edwin Starr, TOWER of POWER, Robert Knight, WILD CHERRY, ROBERT WINTERS & FALL, Shades of Blue, the Spinners, etc.

Sales pitch over!

No, it deserves to continue...or have its own thread!

I also received a preview copy of Mark's forth-coming book (would publically like to thank you, sir), and have been dipping into it since the weekend. Great info, label scans, memorabilia and artist pics, as well as the words of wisdom. Recommended.

Will also be checking out Rick's new book...thanks for the heads-up, Roburt.

:hatsoff2:
