of course it dosn't follow that what you end up singing is what you want or expect...have you noticed that this, tends to happen just as you are waking up from a night's sleep?..that's why it's impossible to figure out why it's any genre of music....don't you wish you could program your brain to just wake up with a northern soul tune, pounding in your brain?

This has been in me brain all day...well since 2pm anyway! Dunno why I bought it for 10p....but something tells me Northern doo's back in the 90's??? Len?!  But that's all I know about it.........and 'Let somebody Love youuuuu.....has been it!x

Great tune Pete. Always reminds me of a trip to St Malo in Brittany - when I heard it in a cafe, just had to have it. Whenever I hear the tune, it transports me back across the Channel.

Hey Sooty thats a nice tune mate and a new one on me.By the way the (Fox In A Mini Skirt) record also exists on the same label as an instrumental by The Castle Band,which was played a few times at the Stafford nighters in the 80s,but i prefere the vocal

Your tune vocal or instru would make my collection/tastes Patto....but he sings well for defo!x My one made my collection back in 97 the first time! I first played it at the 100Club I think Easter time....as I remember getting it as an Easter present for meself! Played it at Winsford/Blackburn but probably only 4 or 5 times all told! I gave it to a lad from Manchester who was a loyal supporter for the 7/8 years I was hacking it....came everywhere and he fell in love with it towards the end of me 90's stint! At me last Blackburn in '99...I gave it to him as a pressy!x I haven't had the need for it since.....but....as i'm gonna be visiting venues and getting about a bit....then you never know!!!x Got about 30 arrive like that in the last couple of weeks that i;d picked out originally in the 90's as 'rare' sounds....perhaps not in quantity...but certainly in not being played! I never got round to playing them then really....so this time round is their time methinks! Mack Rice-Baby I'm Coming home was in the same vein....£3 record back in '93 when I bought it,,,nobody played it anywhere I went! Played it for 5 years as lights came up at venues Nationwide....after the doo had finished....and folk boogied outta the door to it all happy like! it went up to £20 I recall cos everyone wanted it!! Dunno how much that is today....but I ain;t got one anymore......but tis another simple hang loose...dance tune...I reckon!!!x

This used to get quite a few plays at Wigan Casino as a new release. Fantastic tune.

When at Boot Sales Jordirip....I never go through the 70's/80's stuff....toooo much of it! But...this was at the front of a pile as I walked past. The name Keni Burke stuck in me head for some reason....so i bought it for 10p as said! Luvly production indeed and I definately recognised it.....and not from chart or radio....so someone was playing it in the 90;s as I definitely had heard it somewhere! I'm vague on the 70's/modern as 60's is me thing really....and 70's was the funk era for me as far as 'dance' stuff went and my interests!Uptempo stomp gear really! In the 80's I never listened or played owt for 10 years......and I don't think I missed much out there! I always play some 'modern' or 70's in any set.....cos I know they are loved....but....for me.....whilst I enjoy playing them always....they wouldn;t get me up to dance! The Exciters...Brainstorm....I stomped too anytime back then....Ordinary Joe I remember scooting around too once....but that's it! There's only a few 70's that would make me jump up to be honest.....! I would like to think i;m left my favourite and a somewhat signature tune of mine back in the 90's from the 70's....to kick off with tomorrow or Sunday as I take to the decks from a Northern perspective for the first time in 13 years outside of private parties! So...I ain't against em....just don't do 'it' for me overall!x Having said that....the above is staying in me 70's....arghh bu**er....i;'d have to make an 8o's section in me Northern...and that'd be it!!!....or will it be alright to stick n me 70's bit and i'll remember it there??!!....! Don't wouuuurrrriyyy....it's nervous excitement.....all under controwwwwwl.....!x

I would have loved to have seen your spot on sunday as Kellingly is not too far for me but i'm off to Stoke nighter Saturday.Back in the day i would have been able to do the nighter and still get to the sunday dayer.Not been in great health of late so just getting through Stoke will leave me in bed all day sunday to recover for work  Monday.

But i'm sure you will be fine,just play the tunes you believe in mixed in with a couple of well known oldies.The thing about an all dayer is you can be a bit more upfront with your spot and play summat different.

Think you will notice a big change in the scene musically and people wise,but if you can inject a bit of the 90s back into the old lady then i think you will be welcomed with open arms.

Keep me posted on any future DJ spots you do and i'll try my best to catch one

I bought it years ago.for a while i had it framed up for my daughter as the label JESSICA is her name and the title conveyed the message that the sky is the limit if you want to reach for them.

another great instrumental that keep going round in me 'ead, is LUCKY DAY - THEOCOFF INVASION on dearborn....a mega want for ages, finally purchased a mint issue off tim complete with smart company sleeve...i always say that the if the americans  had created THE AVENGERS, this would have been the theme tune...i also think a lot of you agree with that remark as well!

PAAAATTTOOOO....just cleaned and polished me Willie Small that came in me 30 I just bought .....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
