Just read an announcement on Tony's FB page from his niece. Can't begin to say how gutted I am.

what fantastic response for Tony much has been said & written, I first sold I mean met Tony in Bedford in 72, he was part of a large number who were into rare soul, going to the Pilgrims Pub Bletsoe were very new back then, Tony will be missed by me, a strange fact, I have only 3 contacts from the Scene in my Mobile, Tony is one, strange but true, also he owes me £50?

Tony was the first dj I ever booked back in 1981. He reminded me a while back that I was the only person to pay his fee upfront (£50 - a tidy sum in those days!) but he was well worth it and always enjoyed coming up to Norwich. I shall miss him...

Still have a tape from Tony from the 80's with one of his superb remixes - Johnny Caswell - You don't love me anymore. You would never know this wasn't an alternative mix done in the studio at the time.

 

RIP Tony, a great guy and will always be remembered.

I remember Tony he was a cool guy, and had bottle I can tell you, althoug he did'nt look I see him front out a some dickhead thugs.

Just goes to show you can never judge a book by it's cover.

Didn't know Tony well but talked when he went to Rugby & I think Gail & Donna use to keep him entertained with their double act, he was a nice guy from what I knew & saw and a big part of the scene, RIP Tony.

Hello all,
Thank you again for being patient with news for the funeral.

The funeral will be held at Norse Road Crematorium, Bedford, Monday 8th December 2014 at 12.15pm. You are all welcome to join us.
There is no formal dress code, so please wear whatever feels comfortable!
If you would like to send flowers, please send to c/o Clarabut and Plumbe, Bedford.
The family will return home for a private gathering, but I understand that Jo Roberts and Dave Crawley have very kindly organised a wake at The Pheasant in Bedford from 13.30:
