this subject came up recently in a lager/cider state remembering some tunes that were played at the time of the mecca, they as far as i remember were canadian/french, not too good as i remember but still part of the scene, as follows

lady marmalde nanette workmans

lindbergh 2 toulouse

mal martin stevens

hey stranger paul errico

two more have come to mind but do they actually exist or a memory of something else

el coco mondo disco (without fade in start)

fly robin fly, not sure who by but ona grey black label, not silver convention

any more similar tunes or info on the the last two

Did it actually get played? It was mentioned along with Kenny Smith, MVPs, Lou Roberts and Joshie Jo ArmsteadĀ in Dave Godin's Mecca review , I'm sure that Colin has gone on record saying that it was D

Was that version of "Fly Robin, fly" by Masking Sound?

Not a silly record by any means, but there's another French record on a Canadian label that got spins at the Mecca: Sammy Gaha - Thank you, thank you.

El Coco was Lets Get It Together but I don't think it was Canadian (Rinder & Lewis)?

Debbie something or other Long Gone?

Did it actually get played? It was mentioned along with Kenny Smith, MVPs, Lou Roberts and Joshie Jo ArmsteadĀ in Dave Godin's Mecca review , I'm sure that Colin has gone on record saying that it was Dave's own choice, It certainly don't hold a candle to those .
