Being close to New Year and all that...i was listening to a recording i have of Kev (Gold Soul on here) and Richard from NYE 2011, Smooth radio show-Ain’t Nothing But A House Party All-Nighter.

AND to my surprise - Doh  i’d never realised before that  Dana Valery – ‘You Don't Know Where Your Interest Lies’ was written by Paul Simon.

Started to wonder about other Most unlikely’s?

But maybe it’s be done before, if so ugh, sorry.

  • Surprised people didn't know this already? The blinkered world of Northern Soul I guess!

  • Sorry I think this picture sleeve distracted me; Though I also came across this pic; A testimony to his song writing I guess. Just about anyone who is anyone has recorded it.

  • Big vocals and brass, from start to finish on this 1964 release for '50's doowop group,The Solitaires, written by Neil Diamond,no less...........

In much the same vein - I believe it even has "You're so young" on the other side.

No, it has 'I Keep It Hid' on the flip....which is a Shane Martin recorded track too.

"Oh Lord, Why Lord" was writed by the vocalist of sapnish pop-soul group Los Pop Tops, Phil Trim using the basis of the "Canon" by Johann Pachelbel. They recorded it in Spain in 1967 and a year later, 1968, Atlantic published a cover by Brook Benton.
