Mike
I have posted up another extract from my 1977 Wigan diary . I also fell on some more video of Wigan Casino on You Tube. In fact, there are quite a number of pieces of video taken from UK TV programmes about the club and I was surprised how amny times it has featured on TV! The extract below is a fairly balanced view of the place from some the leading DJs who played there. https://indangerousrhythm.blogspot.com/2006...eers-story.html Link to comment Social source share

Question: Wigan opened in Sept. 1973. How is a diary of 1977 in any way "pioneering"? Link to comment Social source share
Guest Adam G
Question: Wigan opened in Sept. 1973. How is a diary of 1977 in any way "pioneering"? I think they mean the people on the video clip. The diary is just a play list of what was played on a night. The link is to the blog page of Colin Dilnot who has a vast knowledge of Soul both Northern and deep, modern etc.Give it a read very interesting. Guest mel brat
Yes, I guess my response sounded a bit churlish! Still, I would hardly call anyone on a Wigan video "pioneers", as it I suppose it would have been made after Northern Soul had started to get into the tabloid press (ie.1975+) Edited December 27, 2006 by mel brat Link to comment Social source share
