I've got one of these, bought it at Thorne circa 1987. I knew it was rare but  wasn't sure how scarce. Any idea on value for an Ex+ copy?

Pete did this come out on Move as a 12 or on one of the comps?

Atb Huggy.

yes on move for sure can get one for a few quid.

the bevnik 7 is another story. doesnt come up much on auction and as such the wider world outside of soulies are a bit oblivious to it.

makes decent money a few hundered quid to 4/500 in top nick. nice label bevnik

Sy Hightower was re-issued?  on I think Hayley Records but I thought that was something to do with you anyway Paul?

Isn't  Gene Townsel on another label Balance Town as well

Re Sy H - I've never been involved in any record releases personally. I have got it on one of those highly dubious Modern Soul LPs  (Fluorescent Smogg is on one of these as well)

Re Gene Townsel - I've re-read the soul source article and is looks like there wasn't a DOBRE release on 45 after all and the Balance Town 45 was put out by Gene Townsel himself in the 2000's. So it is and always was an LP ONLY original. Shame - it was a nice thought that a gleaming DOBRE 45 containing both killer tracks existed.....:@/

Re re Sy Hightower - I'll have to stick to my 'I know you're leaving me' on CARMEN which to my ears is just as good a dancer but has a more soulful tear ass vocal that 'I wonder why'

Get involved with Soul Source
