Among the tracks is JJ Barnes singing "Baby, please come back" and I got him to autograph the cassette insert when I saw him perform at Hinckley (in '83, I think) at what was my first 'proper' nighter.

I bought Motown Memories Vol 1 on cassette when it came out. The non stop one with 6X6, little Darling etc. One of the best compilations ever!

Slightly off topic, but I really liked trading/swopping tapes with other collectors. These were home taped,  but a great way to learn, not just new tracks, but also get a feel for other collectors tastes in rare soul!

Tape swapping and later on CD swapping got me literally 1.000's of great (unknown to me) tracks. When we did the Soul Source CD swapping circle about 15/20 years ago, that was a real highlight. Still playing many of those CDs today.
