January 10, 200718 yr I've Gotta Hear It From You - jackson brothers - providence 13298 refosoul Originally a Dean Anderson spin, but was played by Keb as Rufus Lumley

January 11, 200718 yr Emotions - help truth & the portraits - true love 13296 refosoul Left of left field, for those who like their vocals a bit shouty! January 11, 200718 yr Tenderizer - wilbur reynolds - 13335 refosoul nother instrumental fave of mine.
January 11, 200718 yr Lonely People Can Afford To Cry - clyde mcphatter - amy 13285 refosoul Okay like this game now, sure that most of the records I put up can be challenged whether they are Stafford sounds, however my criteria is I have memories of them there (we will ignore the dementia problem for now) so have counted them. This however surely has no dispute. Picture it, Guy H elevated on decks, demonic look, fag with 12" ash, clicking his fingers in the most soulfull manner possible, does it get any better. Is this the sort of Nostalgia that can aid progression, I hope so,The record of the era FOR ME, and such a record! absolutely love this record, Ernie Andrews Neither Will I Edited January 11, 200718 yr by chalky
January 11, 200718 yr We Got To Start Over - turbines - cenco 13336 refosoul Fantastic, dead ringer for David Ruffin on lead.
January 11, 200718 yr Loved reading this guys, some super records mentioned.................none better than Clyde McPhatter...........awesome soul music. I remember after one of the live acts (Chandler/Parker?......bit of a blur now!) but it went sort of deadly quiet for a few moments...............and then the 100mph in ya face sound of Soul Set "Will You Ever Learn" crashed out of the speakers...............at this point the revolving stage hadn't errr....revolved, and as it started to turn there was Keb at the decks ready to get the dance floor going again...........some great memories from reading this!! Cheers everybody, Mark R
January 12, 200718 yr Anthony & The Aqualads ....I remember....Gold Bee. I Remember - Anthony And The Aqualads - 762 refosoul Great track, what year is this from anyone?
January 20, 200718 yr Seem to remember at a Stafford revival Mr. Thorley playing Johnnie Taylor "What about my love" and saying"this was the best record played at Stafford".....and i think he's probalbly right....from a soul perspective!! Did enjoy.......Jessie Henderson, Garfield Fleming, Groovettes(was an oldie anyway on the way back Tony Bowd sold Gary Colborne his copy he'd had from time) Lee Bates Pyramid Ramsey Lewis Trio feat Darryl Coley George Pepp Great olies revived downstairs/upstairs Skip Jackson T J Williams Jock Mitchell Deon J (still remember etc.) plus loads more downstairs in Keith's last hour Demures etc....etc.... Biggest Stafford record.....purley in commercial terms.....Bookker Newberry III Lovetown Haven't yet seen a Stafford newies compilation that hasnt had Wigan, Rotherham and all points n'th sth east n west sounds on it not to mention lots of oldies. I'M A FIRM BELIEVER IN "IF YOU ARE NOT SURE THEN SAY F/ALL"....if i know from my rather limited knowledge imagine how much wiorse it looks to the real record elite!
A couple of favourites from me then I'll leave it to those who have more expertise...
