I've been reading that one of Soul and Disco's greatest producers, arrangers, writer and musician has passed away.

Anyone into Soul music and indeed Disco will not have been touched by the man's music.

Legendary name to many into "discothèque" music genres. It came back to me (must have noticed it before but forgot then...) when I got in my BR copy of the Carlettes 'I'm getting tire' b/w 'lost without your love' that a young 19 year old debuting Patrick Adams was credited at the composition, direction and arrangements there ! Is that the first time his name appeared on a record ? I'm lead to believe so but... Although a fantastic 'frantic' record his talent hopefully grew for greater success and posterity. He made it his life and living. God Bless +

I think The Carlettes was 1969 and if that is the case he was making music at 17ish. "Woe Woe" which was the B Side of The Sparks according to Discogs. Got a release on CUB after M.S.R.

Patrick was born in March 1950. The The Sparks 'woe woe' on M.S.R. (month ? 1967) then later on CUB was October 1967. The Carlettes on BR was August 1969 and the later both Capitol releases March 1970. Altough the Carlettes would be his first time at directing and arranging as well as composing. Him full at it. Where with the Sparks only co-composer. Thanks for pointing out.

under rated genius back in the seventies until recent times when he got his props, probably because of the "disco" tag .......so many happy, varied and danceable tunes. Watched the red bull academy interview just weeks ago. Another that cannot be replaced. rip and thanks for your music.

Patrick was a member of the Sparks. 1967.
