A couple of thoughts regarding the said song

I love her so much it hurts is a great bit of northern,and also a really good tune to anyones ears....but

Why on earth would you chop such an inviting intro out for the rampart and w/bros release?

And given that the majestics release is just as easy to obtain as the david & ruben releases,why would anyone settle for the david & ruben release?

It's only the Warner Brothers release that was chopped. The Linda orig, and then the Rampart release are both the same with the full intro.

No idea why WB cut it down though.

I was going to suggest for the purpose of radio but the WB release shows it being 10 seconds longer than Rampart.

And why the f*ck would you want Majestics up in lights on a big screen on the stage, thus spoiling the surprise of that fantastic intro?

I compared the Warner Brothers to the Linda and thought the WB sounded a little better on vinyl than the styrene like they got a short master tape and the same stampers were used for the Rampart press, demo and issue with full intro.

Totally agree. I will admit been to stoke lots with my son it spoils it when you know what is coming next.. used to love listening to a spot ( say Gary Rushbrooke at Oddfellows) and he would play lord sitar cover up and would run to the floor and dance my arse off lol

majestics is 1965 david and ruben is 1969.. maybe warner bros thought the horn intro sounded a little dated by 1969...
