Just watched this and early on they put up a picture with Simon and Van McCoy. Simon must have had a few copies made as he sent one to me in 1973 ( Tim Brown used it in his 1976 WIGAN CASINO book with an acknowledgement to me). I attach the message from Simon written on the back of the photo.

Thanks Woodbutcher, started watching this whilst on a weekend in London. Decided to leave it til I’m back home and give it the attention it deserves.

Great listen and very informative

So deeply intwined in so many of the sounds we were brought up on. Scares me to think of what he rejected due to bpm like Willie Wade, Johnny Mae Mathews, Jimmye Bo Horn etc etc.

Watched it yesterday.............gold dust this for a slightly younger guy like me, for whom this guys was almost like a mythical character!

I agree,not the best interview,quality was poor too,however all the other vids have been really good.
