AFTER READING THE COMMENT,S GOOD AND BAD I,M LOOKING FORWARD TO HAVING ME SOME FUN ON OUR LADIES NIGHT. Best tip I can think of is - dont forget your bottle of wine to take on stage with you! - especially for anyone who gets a bit nervous. When you're in unfamiliar territory (ie on stage behind the decks) and your getting used to that, whilst trying to remember all those records you've planned that you want to play, a touch anxious about remembering what's where on the mixer/ faders & start button on the decks, whilst cueing up your tunage properly, if you get some mithering bloke fussing about you like an expectant father (the promotor or one of your hubbie's / co-owners of record collections in use possibly), you might need the whole bottle of wine to calm you down and stop you hitting him! lol Jayne.x. I was collecting long before I met Ted....I used to absolutely seethe when I did a spot and peeps used to go running over to Ted...What was that record..how much..where did YOU get it. They dont do It no more mind you...I think I make it pretty clear to most peeps...who's records they are.THE ARE NOT OURS They're my babies...I've got into debt when I've had a buying fest...I've shed tears over having to sell some to get out of debt or to buy others...stayed up all night waiting to bid on long time wants and must haves..I've had the bloody screaming habdabs when I've missed out......Makes me sound like a mad woman dosent it.??? or maybe thats how record collecting gets ya. Linda, I couldn't agree more. In fact, its probably harder for a girl who collects cos you got to cut through all the crap of trying to negotiate etc etc when buying, as well as having blokes ask "how much does your fella want for this" when you are selling. How many times have you been to a bbq where the blokes think they are the only ones who can cook a chicken leg on an open fire? But, credit where its due. Saw Mac's wife Deena about 1 hr ago and she's worried in case the numbers are down.I told her not to worry as Broad Lane is always packed. Alan reckons we can look forward to Mac playing some rare stuff.He has a massive collection and it's good to hear something different now+again.Even though I do still like some of my old favourites. there are some discs that still get me dashing onto the dancefloor.. Pat ps finished work + should really be doing housework but am saving energy for tonight ha! ha! pps just realised Dave that i've been up since 5 past 6 so we'll both be propping up eyelids tonight.Alan's been up since 4:45 so don't even mention it to him.
