That was the author's scooter. I'm digging out some old '79 Southend/ Brighton snaps of the York SC & Road Rat scoots (remember the radiator grill backrests ) I'll scan them in and put them up on Freebasing or All Our Yesterdays.....

I've got a photo of that too, either from Great Yarmouth or a show at Gloucester Leisure Centre.

I know how to scan things onto my comp, but no idea how to put them on here. I've tried countless times but always fail miserabley.

Mark was like a rash - everywhere..............it's all in the book. I've got as far as 1977 - I'm saving 1978 for the train journey to Beckton this morning Once I've found my photos, I'll start a thread in Freebasing...in fact, this could be moved to Freebasing and you can start adding your photos. There was a pink metallic lammy with all the soul labels on it at the 79 Southend Rally - just adding a bit of soul content Jo

Hey Jo - Managed to get on the "guest list" again and back into the forum - cheers for "bigging" the book up and hope your enjoying it Dont know about me getting about a fair bit on TTM - you seemed to be everywhere we rode to and usually full of it

The book was a labour of love, before my memory fails completely and all proceeds are simply to pay off my bank manager (Dad) who loaned me the dosh to self publish & print it.

I will be at the Kev Walsh LCGB parts fair in Doncaster (Sun Feb 17th - Adwick Leisure Centre) wiv' me pasting table creaking with books to sell, if anyones up that way or in the scooter fraternity.

Good to hear pics of TTM still floating about - I would be very grateful to anyone who has any pics of that scoot or any of my others, if they could send em' to me via email - I do collect pics from 70ts/80ts but hardly have any of TTM or myself as I was either bloody riding it or snapping other cool scoots

Yeh mines from Scarbrough too. Wasn't there another named Time trouble & money part 2?, Have some pictures form that time somewhere with Martin Blunt from the Charlatons he was a member of the scooter club i was in Andy his brother & myself were the oldest in the Club. I also ran a club at that time named the Skybolt in Bilston mabe some of you remember it?

I just finished reading the book and it really was a great read!  
It's one of those books that keeps your interest and you just don't really want it to end.

Lots has been written about the 60s Mod era, becoming hard Mod, Skinhead, Suedehead etc. 
This all seems to go up to the early 70s and then resumes again in '79 with the revivals.
The great thing for me was to learn about the vibrant scooter boy scene up North in the mid 70s before '79.
This was was an evolution / continuation of the Mod, Skinhead, Suedehead scene in fashion running parallel with the Northern soul scene, which was just moving above ground.  

There are some great photos in the book.  These include early shots of the club initially in authentic US M51 fishtail parkas, which then become donkey jackets by the end of the book.

It is great to hear about each of Brad's Lambretta projects and the changing tastes in scooter customizations.  You really get a sense of the thrill, camaraderie and pride to be riding one of the scooters in convoy to the next rally.

There are several passing references to Northern Soul including one interesting anecdote outside Wigan Casino.

I was born too late.  I started my lifelong interest in all things scootering and Northern in the early 80s at the age of 13. This is when the story is starting to come to an end in the book, so we do cross over for a while.

It is also interesting to see how the club acknowledges that although it all originated with the Mods, the club has adopted the scooter boy identity and the distance widens from '79 on.  Something I remember vividly, when the Mods started their own separate scooter rallies.

There is also a very happy ending to the book which many of us will relate to on the forum.

I hope that the book is reprinted so others can enjoy it, but don't wait - get a copy now while you can.

and what a Glowing review of the Book which i have a copy of and read myself, bloody Good Read, anyone that knows Brad would tell you he's a really nice Guy and very Passionate about all thing Scooters and the Scooter Scene its self. My first Scooter was a Lambretta SX200 LEE 622F back in '69 (All White) I wish i had it now Would be wort a fortune 😂 Yea was great to have been there back in the beginnings of a Scooter and Soul Scene, made me who i am today without a doubt, All the best and thank you for posting up your result and thoughts, Take Care,
