September 3, 200816 yr What was the title on the Bobby Dobyne? 'Soulful Sound Of Music'...and £275 was IMO way too cheap. Would take a lot more than that to make me even think about selling mine.
September 3, 200816 yr Thanks everyone a bar-gin. He did a much later one around 1980 with a fakking great title which is as rare as they come - sadly not too good a record though.
September 3, 200816 yr 'Soulful Sound Of Music'...and £275 was IMO way too cheap. But it was an acetate and that track also gained a "real" 45 issue, this generally seems to have an effect on the price. Great tune in any case!
September 3, 200816 yr But it was an acetate and that track also gained a "real" 45 issue, this generally seems to have an effect on the price. Great tune in any case! Yeh, pretty sure I have the issue of that 45. Yellow & Black label Sebastian? Sean
September 3, 200816 yr Dobyne was, of course, one of the 'Artistics'. His "Spent A Lot Of Years" on Kwanza is a deepie / ballad well worth picking up (IMO). Sean
September 3, 200816 yr Yeh, pretty sure I have the issue of that 45. Yellow & Black label Sebastian? Sean Sean, yes it's a yellow/black label...Crown Ltd. Wasn't an acetate on auction though, but a vinyl test pressing. Actually think the flip is just as good.
September 3, 200816 yr Dobyne was, of course, one of the 'Artistics'. His "Spent A Lot Of Years" on Kwanza is a deepie / ballad well worth picking up (IMO). Sean Yes that is a great record too.

IMVHO I love the tune !
September 3, 200816 yr Yes that is a great record too. I love how he says "HO-ney" (like all southern sounding) on both I want you to make my life over and on Spent a lot of years. Spent a lot of years is very hard to find as an issue with the flip.

Spent a lot of years is very hard to find as an issue with the flip. Yes sounds more like h-o-r-n-e-y.....Might have that isue with a flip - will need to dig it out.
September 4, 200816 yr Dobyne was, of course, one of the 'Artistics'. His "Spent A Lot Of Years" on Kwanza is a deepie / ballad well worth picking up (IMO). Sean Got a double sided demo in EX to M- condition of this at £25 inc reg p&p if anyone's interested. Pm me if you fancy it. Cheers Julian

It definitely sounds different to the Stereo mix and is only on the original. I always play the Mono side out........keeps the Soul Police away Cheers Steve
September 4, 200816 yr keeps the Soul Police away Cheers Steve But you are a member of the soul police Stevie.
September 4, 200816 yr Isn't that Don & Debbie sooo cheap?? In the last 3 months, I've seen one on ebay at 700$ (vg+) and another couple at 400£+ (I think).
September 4, 200816 yr But you are a member of the soul police Stevie. Thanks for blowing my cover Steve Anyway that report you asked for on that DJ will be on your desk tomorrow morning Cheers Ian Blair

Near everyone has only ever seen this 45 on the styrene, "Monster Masters" label....... Is the flip the same? I vaguely remember bidding on it the one time I've seen it on ebay and don't remember it having the "no no never again" side which is the side I know on the monster masters record, but I remember listening to it and thinking it was a nice northern side.
September 5, 200816 yr Yes self incrimination by Mr Plumb I repeat.......................Thanks for blowing my cover Steve Anyway that report you asked for on Gavin Page will be on your desk tomorrow morning Cheers Ian Blair
