Yes I guess it is frightening, but I don't want to look like a pensioner on the dancefloor................maybe it's different for the guys they don't worry what they look like OR do they?? I'll enjoy the music whatever age I am, but dancing well there has to be be a cut off point IMO.

I have a very good, lovely friend in Blackpool called Ian who goes to a lot of soul nights/niters - to be honest I'm not sure how old he is - someone once told me that he was almost 60 (I'm not sure that's right though) - he's a great dancer and is on the floor all night - all I can say is I hope I've as much energy when I get there as he has

(By the way are you watching King Elvis at 11.30pm - '68 comeback special - I love Elvis and don't care who knows )

At the mo, Ive a bad foot - ankle/heel, of course told the 'norm' - 'to rest & put it up as pos.'!

So of course, Ive put a support sports bandage on - like you do - so I can carry on dancing!

The only time I will give up is when my legs give up on me completely, which I hope is not just yet!

However I on reflection at Wigan I would be on the dance floor 95% of the time and the other 5% of the time in the record bar. Now when I'm not behind the decks its it's 90% of the time in the record bar, 5% on the dancefloor and 5% stroking my chin

I'm in the same situation as you Karen, torn ligaments, twisted muscle, etc. When I've been out and hear the music it just gets right inside me and I just have to get up and dance. Support bandage hasn't really helped much. Now I'm trying to limit the places I go to, avoiding long evenings like the Dome or Scenesville, etc. Watching other people dancing just makes me frustrated, and then they play a track I love, and what can you do?

The thought of giving up going out to soul clubs and dancing is just too horrible to contemplate for whatever reason, age, health, etc. Guess I am just a sad obsessive.

Probs with the old pegs have reduced me to a slow wander around the dancefloor, Best bet is wait till a beat ballad comes on drunkenly stagger off to the loo,

everyone thinksyou're dancing.

& Mark keep away from those nuns, you know they have dirty habits

Didn't we think that 50 was ancient when we all first started dancing and that Zimmer frames were for anyone over 40!!!

And yet we are still there, still doing it albeit a little more slowly.

I hope that I can keep it up until I've had enough

As for the dancing well I hope to keep spinning until my legs finally tell me that they have had it (which I seem to recall was about 5 years ago) but as karen said you stick a band aid on and keep going
