  1. Thanks Floyd.. thing is it is a debit account and it is linked to my bank account, which is why I rhought it strange I should incur a fee !! Coincidentally - when attempting a paypal payment last week as friends & family (as I always do..) I received a message from paypal advising that my spending limit had been reached and for them to increase the limit I would have to ink my debit card to a bank account. After doing that and receivng notice of the same I made said payment - WITHOUT any additional fee added. Just seems a bit pevculiar that this transaction (and for a LOT less than the payment mentined above) should incur this 'fee' of £1.96.. guess I'll have to have a telphone conversation with paypal - I'll update with the result of my conversation by posting on this thread..
  2. Having just attempted a friends & family payment through paypal the total invoice included a 'Fee' of £1.96 - on a payment of £40 !! I made various attempts but each time the same fee would be added, so had to take it on the chin and suffer the additional expense in order to satisfy my ourstanding order. Just wondering if any one else has eperienced this ?? Also, is it a percentage of the payment amount or a set fee ?? Any feedback appreciated Fingers
  3. Did you also get inst of 'You Hit Me (Like TNT)' Gilly... with female backing/chorus ?? The inst of 'My Dear Heart', I think at least, is just as awesome..
  4. pm sent
  5. ...and saw release on his sole U.S. RCA album
  6. Lets not forget that we all have live's outside the vinyl collecting.. and life can dictate things sometimes unexpectedly. This seller lists on a regular basis - with generally all listings attracting a fair level of interest. I'm certain our enquiries for this latest batch will see appropriate response when circumstances suit - so let's just cut the guy some slack and allow him reasonable time to make response, eh ??

  8. I had a listen to the posted cover up track in comparison to the jimmy Dee 45 on V-tone I mentioned above.. and do feel he could indeed be the artist featured in your posted video. BUT.. in case it turns out that I am wrong - don't forget.. I did make earlier mention about my ears being made of cloth.. I hope you manage to solve the puzzle and identify the track & artist for definite, and wish you luck with it
  9. Sounds very much like Jimmy Dee to me ?? Front page results after searching on Google for J Dee (and the possible song title in the video you posted 'The Girl I've Been Looking For') does suggest he may indeed have cut a song by that title.. so a good possibility - or at least a starting point for further searching perhaps ?? Good luck with your quest, regardless.. Edit: Perhaps worth adding to the above.. that, as well as sounding to me like J Dee, it also sounds very similar to his V-tone release 'If It Wasn't Fore Pride'.. to these cloth ears at least Right.. i'm off to find another quest to get me teeth into
  10. I went for it Chalky but unsuccessful.. Appreciate the heads up though..
  11. please state condition & price via pm.. TIA Fingers
  12. I regularly had a preference for including it in sets of mine - at a various different promotions. Rugby 'Niter's for sure.. along with Movin' On soul nights near Coventry. I also gave it airings when a guest at United Sounds of Soul and Bishops Woods. Likely I also slipped it on elsewhere too, but can't remember for certain. Prior to this thread I already had every intention of dusting down my copy.. in readiness for a return visit to the decks of the Main Room at Rugby Soul Club's Benn Hall promotion - when a guest spinner at their Anniversary 'Niter in February. All-round fantastic tune, in my books at least
  13. Okay, thanks..
  14. Thanks for posting Liam - not heard that before. But SO glad I have now. EXCELLENT methinks
  15. Is that a pic of the boot ??
  16. I liked it too.. although I don't recall having ever heard it previously. But knowing me, I PROBABLY HAVE !! (several times too, no doubt) - I'm just not in possession of sufficient brain cells these days to be able to remember It immediately reminded me of No No Starr's 'Swing Your Love My Way' (to these cloth ears at least) sharing several similarities I think.. both in arrangement and vocal (delivery) Mind you.. I, for one, would DEFFO part with some of my hard earned ££'s if a copy were to be offered. Provided ONLY that its sale price was reflective of the aforementioned Midas 45 (of course)
  17. The 45 was only available as a give-a-way with the LP Billy.. but can't remember if actually labelled as a promotional item or such like. Hope that helps
  18. So.. With the JM auction throwing it in to the mainstream can we now expect to see his listing sell for something more in the region of £200+ ???
  19. Well, there ya go then !! That just goes to confirm two things.. 1) My sentiments as to the 45 being deserved of turntable exposure at today's venues - the fact the 100 Club gives it deck time being a huge accolade in itself !! 2) Obviously.. I don't get out anywhere near enough.. And.. I'll STILL take a sensibly priced (Fingers definition) copy
  20. A big THANK YOU to the post originator for the favour you have inadvertently bestowed upon my ageing ears.. I can't believe I have never before heard, or somehow come across this 45 previously - possibly due to my historically prioritising 6T's tunes over 70's recordings. But what a fantastic slab of Soul THAT is !! If, as indicated, it was a big Mecca spin then surely it is ripe for some current turntable action? I would defo be giving that some regular deck time were I in that position - and will now be quietly looking for a copy (at a bargain price, of course.. )
  21. I caught some of it today - personally, I feel it a bit of an insult to have a presenter such as GN host an interview with such an Iconic musical genius.. Mainly because of the fact that GN's inane attempt at humour is not commensurate with an interview of a figure so important in the history of soul music, Tin hat on..
  22. Thanks for posting Mike - a very interesting and informative article. I do find it incredulous though that there is no mention of his iconic Northern classic ' Love Runs Out / The Duck' and the fact it is revered by thousands of soul fans worldwide who have touched on the Northern Soul Scene at some point or another since the mid 1970's, and commands a following that - from the article at least, Mr Hutch perhaps doesn't even realise the importance of his Dunhill 45 to soul fans across the globe ??
  23. Also Russ.. Why did you just not ask him as to his motives when standing in front of him ?? Would've saved all the speculation and general negativity the majority of responses thus far the question has generated.. Hope you okay by the way Russ - missed you at Rugby ??
