  1. Sounds like good advice, thanks boba, thanks gogs, I never recieved a message. good luck. John
  2. I haven't posted my feedback yet, surley e bay can see something is wrong, I've also noted that e bay has not got a listed address for this guy/girl.I've initiated my claim its up to e bay now. I always pay within seven days, and contact the vendor to advise any period longer than 48hrs. I believe its the polite way to do buisness John
  3. I knew it would happen one day, I've been buying (and selling) on e bay for 3 years and I've never had cause to leave anyone bad feedback. I bought two records before Christmas, Sensations and Bud Harper, They've not arrived yet and I've contacted the seller through e bay and also by e mail several times and not had an answer. The sellers feedback has gone "private" and is bottoming out at 84%. Do you think I've been had? Whats a respectable time to wait(it was Christmas after all)? Can I claim off paypal,or does it require both parties to make statements. madeinengland1963/s.terry smith if you are out there, please get in touch!!!!!!!!
  4. You might like to try Georgie Fames version or John Legends sample
  5. Steve Flanagan I've Arrived and Pete Wylie (Story of the blues?) Now Niel thats a hard one (Niel Kimble)
  6. One in sales (soulfulmouse) £20 now thats a bargain !!!
  7. I watched and enjoyed it I think MF did very well and showed a true love for the music. The Beeb on the other hand short changed us When compared to Melvin Braggs 50 years of Blue Note, Arena presentation of a decade ago 90 minutes with interviews with artists, producers, club owners, engineers and even the cover photographers. Maybe it just goes to show that soul music is still looked down on by the majority of 'media types' as it has been from the 60s
  8. Two threads one tune........... Which is the bootleg thread?
  9. I'm a regular listener and Brian does come up with the 'goods' now and again more power to you Mr Matthews!
  10. Just tuned into Radio 2 Brian Matthews is playing some very obscure Motown (Rick James/Niel Young Myna birds?) this morning Tune In!
  11. I like it......... could be something to do with the artist's name?
  12. Piano's well 'up' in the German mix too What an all time classic record..... anyhow HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE JOHN
  13. Just a tip get the US copy its a far better mix
  14. I think the word we're looking at here is atmospheric I was at the Casino one night when this was hammered by at least 3 DJs went home with those out of tune horns buzzing round my brain (still in there actually) Instrumentals were a big part of the scene I loved it then and still do now Merry Christmas John
  15. Barbara Pennington's 24 hours a day gotta be one of the best 'tailor mades' imho, but also 'crossed over' into the disco market.
  16. HYCTIB I've seen this on various issues single sided demos etc. which is the original, apologies if this has already been covered John
  17. Credited to Goga/Mc Niel I think thats Landy McNIEL but Goga.........Don't know that one Two more Whispers Will you be mine from Bingo Popcorns' How did I lose you/I can take the world on with you from ESP
  18. Can't find my copy at the moment, but I'm sure this was a Bobby Martin production? was it recorded in Philly ,if so, did she do anything else? didn't Barbara Acklin do it also Great TUNE!!!!!!! THANKS FOR THE REMINDER
  19. Yes, In work too and the titles are a bit hazy It only happens when I look at you Aretha Franklin (NOW)
  20. Seems Funny but most album track "goodies" fall into the modern soul bracket maybe its cos 45's were the common denominator in the 60's So for me its got to be Aint no need Ralph Graham Sussex Why must our eyes be always turned backwards Lou Bond It aint worth getting up in the morning Johnny Taylor John
  21. Listening this morning I've heard a nice little dancer by Sandi Shaw Don't Run Away apparently released in '68 but never charted anyone else hear/know it? John
  22. A totaly blinding stomper a true nasty northern sound if ever there was one. I first heard this on you tube, a short snippet of a club somewhere featuring a fantastic dancer back dropping and doing the splits to it.Added to the excitement of the track Alas I can't find that snippet anyone help?
  23. Wasn't that the American dance the Penguin wether it be funky or not? best John
  24. The word 'stomp' has been associated with dancing since the 30s (Bristol Stomp,Stomping at the Savoy) My guess is that it carried on through to describe any Northern track with a heavy baseline,as opposed to floaters I don't know any style of Northern dance that resembles a stomp best John
