.....and that Steve is what makes the history of this scene so compelling. Whilst we were steeped in Wheel/Torch/Cats primarily---it is fascinating that in other parts of the UK there was a 'parallel' scene at that time with regional variations on 'top sounds' of the day. I do think though it would be an absolutely mammoth task to try to collate and 'chronicle' everything. It would probably have to be done chronologically and not just based on venues because as you say--there was a lot more going on in far flung places that doesn't get mentioned but is staple to the 'roots of the scene. There is probably more 'product' out there with regards to Wigan due to its longevity and would possibly stand a better chance from an archive point of view. ....oh and how yer doing matey. Hope you and yours are well. Bumped into Stuart Garrett the other day and had a good ole chinwag.'

Who Discovered What ?
Graham Warr .........just came across this--knew he had discovered a few but.........................that is SOME list!!!!! Ref: A previous thread on here with regards to a Cats reunion at Soulvation........ Graham was already drifting away from the Rare Soul scene by the time The Cats closed and didn't bother trying to DJ here, there and everywhere, and I reckon that's why he is so under-rated. He moved on to contemporary music and became an absolute icon as a jazz funk DJ.

Phil Morgan
As we approach the first anniversary of Phil Morgan's death it seems a fitting time to celebrate his life in music. There is a (recorded) one hour internet radio show on www.ReachOnAir.com at 7pm (UK time) on Thursday December 17 (>https://www.reachonair.com/<

1972
Great photos, Brigid and Sue here's a couple I've found lurking around Top one is me and Fido (Brian Faulkner) on our way to the Mecca ( 72 I think). Taken at motorway services. Looks like we were ready for it Funny wasn't it --in them days--you always had to jump into one of those photo booths ......Bottom one is me and Phil Whitehurst and if you look carefully there is a hidden 3rd face who we hijacked his photo It was I think possibly Bibbsy from Macclesfield or Sneaksy . Think this is 73 though--on a trip to Va Va's

hey up mate hows it going? remember that well. I ,like a lot of folks, were not aware at the time--about its withdrawal from the market. Very strange though--at that time from the Torch, I bought a green and white one and there were 2 other demos I noticed on the same night!!!!!! Think I paid £15 at the time--but left in the morning thinking---Is it really all that rare cos I've just seen 3 demos in one night
