  1. Here we go......................
  2. Great sets guys, sounds like a great afternoon.
  3. There's two versions of this by Joe. both great but one's a lot rarer than the other.
  4. You never see Sharon Paige for sale. What a killer tune.
  5. Best version for me and it's not often that you can say that about a Masqueraders tune. It has a slinky 70's something about it that the Masqueraders doesn't have, great that it is, but Brenda out does it in groove and soulfulness for me.
  6. Great price on Brenda Southall.
  7. A few Driffield memories there Adam. I've still got a box of those boots from that time that I can't bring myself to sell, although I did sell a mountain of similar boots when Joseph was born as they were taking up half his bedroom space. 17 years later and I'm beginning to wish I'd sold Joseph and kept the records. (joke Joseph if you're reading this!) Jordi

Really enjoyable hour spent listening to that Rob. Love the Willie Johnson track, Ohio Players is fantastic also. Really like the Arthur Conley track too. Jordi
  9. You could be in a queue for this.
  10. Sounded great when Phil Wainright dropped the needle on his orig copy last week at the Inner Circle night in Manchester, in a sweaty cellar bar, it just seemed so right somehow if you know what i mean.
  11. I disagree Mr.C. I've got them both and great that Freakish Love is, I prefer the sublimeness of "Put a smile..." the horns at the end stay with me for days once it's in my head. Much harder to get than Freakish as well.
  12. I picked a copy of the Eddie Horan some years back, about 25p I think. I'm sure I've seen it listed at ÂŁ200, so the Manship winner probably got that cheap.
  13. Almeta @ ÂŁ550. . Has this shot up or something?
  14. Fantastic for a Friday afternoon.
  15. Very cheap. Nice to see one without the scratched out address.
  16. Took me ages to sell my copy. I had it on about 4 sales lists, progressively cheaper till it was almost given away.
  17. Ha ha, sorry Jim. I did have a few copies at the time it got released that i gave to a couple of mates. Are you sure Elijah Cole hasn't got any?
  18. I love both versions. They're both different takes on the same song and both versions are deadly. I love the bassline on the columbia version. but the feel and atmosphere (and guitar playing) of the June Yamagishi take is something else.
  19. Yes, I had one of those first presses, truly awful, I think I pursuaded my bro dave to play it at Prestatyn because even though it sounded shit, you could still tell it was a monster tune. I had it sent to me from a guy in Germany who I'm not sure but might have been a boyfriend of the daughter. He asked me for my feedback on the record, so I told him it was a great track but shit mastering on the 45. A couple of months later out of the blue he sent me a couple of copies of the newly mastered release, and boy what a difference. The production on the 45 is absolutely fantastic. As Jason Stirland will testify, Elijah Cole might be as mad as a box of frogs now, but boy oh boy, he knew what he was doing in a recording studio because all the recordings are crystal clear and superbly done.
  20. Yep, got this as my ring tone. I never tire of it and it always puts me in a good mood.....until I answer the phone.
  21. So many great tracks on this LP Paul.
  22. Yes it's the original vinyl release. It was recorded round about the same time (I think) as Gold Of My Life, but it was never cut to vinyl, until Elijah Cole decided to re release Gold Of My Life, and he released a few things that he had engineered from back in the day that had never been originally released at the time.
  23. WOW!!....That's it then, I would like a 7" copy.
  24. Ace tune Des, it should be snapped up. Sounds rough as a badger's arse in the clip though, is that just the recording?
