Pioneers Of Northern Soul On The Radio Back Then
Didn't listen when Mike Raven was presenting, but when it came back early 70s it had a different presenter, whose name I can't remember , played a mix of everything. Notably though he used to do a call to the US every week to the R&b Stations for their top spins of the time-one of the DJs, whose name kinda stuck---E.Rodney Jones. And yes obviously Andy Peebles Soul Train on Piccadilly Radio, later taken over by Mike Shaft. ATB Tony

Lou Rawls Dead End Street
Whilst we're on the subject of Mr. Rawls, what's the score with Breaking My Back?? Seen it on the Capitol special products and i've got one of those juke box Mini LP things with it, but did it come out on a "normal" Capitol 45 ?? ATB Tony

Northern Fashion 73/74
Quick one though-anybody remember Patchwork shirts, not the ones that were printed "patches", but made from real patches sewn together?? Always wanted one. And yes--did have a printed one Oh, and while were at it, early 70's - polo shirts and jumpers and cardigans, the brand to be seen in was Slazenger-so much so that Salford Market did a "roaring" trade in sew 'em on yourself lion badges. Fred Perry was so 2nd division. Tony
