Of all the thousands of tunes out there, this one always seems to have a positive effect, whenever I hear it I always end up singing along.

earliest youth club memories
My youth club days were mostly pre my northern days, plus many of the lads/lasses there were West Indian. Therefore these were some of the tracks I remember most.

The Shakers.
There were indeed loads of copies on Bradford market and it was played at The L'Ambassadeur prior to the Torch and probably at Up The Junction as well. I hate to admit it but I took the copy to the L'Ambassadeur that was first played, oh the innocence of youth, I hate the bloody record now and often wonder why I thought is was any good back then, Green n Clears, Red n Browns perchance ?.

Soul sample ID

Revilot 208 Jackey Beavers I Need My Baby. Why so rare?
No I'm not sure about anything which is why I used a "?". We know grey revilots were local Detroit issues and the pink ones were nationally distributed. Which is probably why Hit And Run is much rarer than both Darrell Banks as there are no pink ones. So maybe when the multi-coloured label came into being they still just pressed an initial run for the Detroit market. If the exposure in Record World was only one or two Detroit DJs then it it would not have been released nationally. I'm just logically speculating.

Revilot 208 Jackey Beavers I Need My Baby. Why so rare?
No airplay, therefore no national release ?

Any northern records
James Brown. Hey America got few plays in the early seventies.

Moving house with a record collection
