  1. I have an allnighter membership from the mid 80's for the Soul Explosion Soul CLub, which was in Newcastle somewhere ! Came down on the Edinburgh coach, Colin. Law and JIm Tennant were dj'ing and there was a dance competition which they judged which we all felt was weird and 10 yrs too late !!
  2. I got this on a tape by Edinburghs Andy Dennison in 1987 , a collector and one of the " New " dj's to emerge at that time, Played out in Scotland at various venues late 80's onwards, but apart from the collectors never took off on the dancefloor, either too difficult to ,dance to or not uptempo enough , as you say fabulous record and indeed in need of the recognition it deserves.......
  3. Always loved The Intruders track, great oldie to get the floor going, but £40 tops !
  4. It went for £947.00 this morning
  5. Only six copies have gone through Popsike in the last few years , the copy that went for £ 127.00 was a top bargain ! So considering it's a true rarity, let's have a show of hands who's got a copy of this magnificent album , Who's first up ? .....
  6. A copy on eBay went for over £900.00 today !
  7. Anybody got a current price for this ?
  8. With a buy it now of $2000.00 ! Which currently equates to what the last copy in August went for, £1200.00 , and that was in better condition all round
  9. Talk to Keb Darge, I spent a very amusing night listening to his stories of when they kicked off Stafford and the Casino oldies / pop crowds turned up initially and were asking for the same old dross, I think he played one record five times in a row and then snapped it in half chucking it over his shoulder saying - " Right enough of that old stuff, let't try some new stuff " !!!!! The rest as they say is history........
  10. Can somebody please ask Martin what the hell it was and put us out of our misery ! This has been rumbling on for 4months !! ;-)
  11. Nice one Pete ! George Blackwell, my favourite sound, hairs still stand on the back of my neck even now after all these years with the opening bars! Clap your hands, won't you clap them for me, I'm in misery!!
  12. Sold the first part of my 45's collection to JM in 2000 when my first kid came along and was very pleased with the deal, loads of original oldies that I had picked up in 83 / 84. , dirt cheap from my mates older brothers in tip top condition after the casino closed and they decided to Jack it all in and the constant pressure from their wife's to get rid of those bloody old records in the garage !!!! Second part of my 45's ( Stafford / Leicester / Morecambe / Blackburn / Shotts sounds onwards) to another known seller who again came up trumps. , 60 % - 40 % , when my second kid came along in 2002 and bought a lovely New people carrier, My experiences have been nothing but positive with UK dealers, long before you could do it yourself with eBay or the hassle of lists / fairs. Yes I know of horror stories where people themselves have been unsure whether they have owned an original or not and sold it for peanuts after being convinced it was a second issue, but these have been a lot rarer nowadays as people with thanks to this site and others can research themselves. Still got 500 + albums. / 12 " but not selling yet till the kids hit university !!!!!!
  13. I see the 12" wlp went for £530.00 on evil bay tonight ! £200.00 more than I thought it was worth
  14. Just ordered my DVD film copy, 9 quid from Amazon, out Monday !
  15. Wow ! That's scary, time really does March on, great modern room , living in London at the time and plenty of faces from the smoke use to regularly travel up, that 1st Anniversary freebie Lp has to go down as one of the best anniversary giveaways ever !
  16. Still looking for this one ! Pm me !
  17. Its not often I'm disappointed on here ! I thought you were all talking about " Loving on borrowed time " That'll teach me to take in the group name spelling from now on ! Oh how my heart sank when I looked at Manships site and saw the other one ! £250 on a good day and £300 with the wind behind it !
  18. Buy the album, it's way cheaper than the 45 !
  19. Sold mine for £200.00 back in 2008 , was happy with that at the time, picked it up for £10.00 in 83 ! but seen it recently for double that ! I would say £ 300.00 in current climate, Great record
  20. PM'd you
  21. As an album only collector nowadays I was glad to see Freddie Hughes go for that sum , a phenomenal album for it's time in both a series of quality of songs and it's production, it's worth every penny and so outshadows a lot of other. " one track " albums around that go for a lot more money , for once I can't complain or criticize, a first !!
  22. Ruby Andrews ! Played to death !
  23. Apologies, post entered in error
  24. The entire Carla Whitney album, love it and perfect for a relaxing Sunday while my roast lamb cooks !
