It's the ''Medley: My Girl/I Want a Love I Can See [Acappella]'' track you're looking for third from last in the list, but maybe the preview clip is too short to hear it?
  4. Was that the one that was in very good / unplayed condition too? I think the seller was from Detroit and also had a copy of Anthony Raye for sale. The Impact label does a 'Danny Moore'? I hope so.

Sometimes the iron in the tape goes off with age, especially if they been kept in damp conditions. If it's started to degrade you might only get one chance to play the old tape so make sure whatever you a recording to is up and running before you start playing the tape. You should also monitor the recording if possible, because often stuff comes off the tape on to the 'play' head and builds up to diminish the play volume, and hence recording volume. Post it to me and I'll have a go, but can't promise anything, if your mate's already said it dead.

There's an unreleased (fortunately!) vocal to it, but it's truely cr*p!

People publishing guides etc, often put in deliberate mistakes so that when people do there own versions they expose themselves as plagiarists by repeating the mistake. It's also available on a Renfro compilation LP.

Not aimed at you or anyone else, just helps keep wants for vinyl etc in the right place. Anyone looking for a song should alway try using the search facility as the 'refosoul' library that's Mike's set up may well have it in there.

If any member has a 'want' regarding a mp3 of a track, can they please post it up in the 'Look You Box' forum, not 'Wants' Ta.
  17. Spooky. I'll sort it and post again.
  18. There's two 're-issues' of TOD. One is on the blue and white Turbo label, which I think was the legit re-release and therefore decent quality pressing. There's also an earlier bootleg on a white label with black print ( I think I've got one somewhere, if I can find it I'll let you know)
  19. A good way to mend them is to get a old fashioned razor blade and glue it to the other side with some of the 'airfix' type glue that 'melts' the vinyl a bit and does need much applying - no big bump and they lie flat on the turntable. I've got two spare mint records that have cracks, but it doesn't effect their play Otis Clay - the only way is up - Echoe Charles Russel - it ain't easy - Psyche Makes me wonder if they're work fixing as I don't know what I'd get for them, any ideas?
  20. Look under the icon to play the sound file - the record with a blue arrow on it and you see an icon to add files to your play list - it looks like a little yellow arrow pointing at three yellow line You can use the search facility to find the track you want to add, if it's already in the 'refosoul' sounds library The method to remove clips from your play list can be found here: /index.php?showtopic=44107

  24. The word crossover to describle a type of music was originally coined in the 60's to describe the type of 'race' music ( i.e. black / R&B / soul music) that had become acceptable to the white market. For example, Motown tunes being played on white radio stations. I first saw the word used on lists about 25 years ago to describe records from around 1969 - 1973 that were between the uptempo motown - type of the 60's and the emerging 'disco' sounds of the 70's. I've never really took much notice of them as they seemed to slow and wishy-washy for the time. Nowadays it's probably used to describe the tunes that us old folks can just about jig about to for 3 minutes without fear of a coronary!
