Not wishing to appear being pedantic but wasn't The Holidays version of "Loves Creeping Up On Me" on Revilot (1967) the original version with United Images version being a later cover version (1971). Both good records I might add. Dave

Jimmy Hart "Sugar Baby" Blue Rock 4035 - Help Requested
I have a nagging recolection in the back of my head that Tony Diamond was a pseudonym used by a former group member of a well known Chicago group to record his one and only solo outing. Possibly The Chi-Lites but then again I might be wrong, need to think more about it. Dave

Jimmy Hart "Sugar Baby" Blue Rock 4035 - Help Requested
Gareth I couldn't find a soundfile of Sugar Baby (Blue Rock )to play him, although he did say that Joe Hunter and the rest of the cast from Thr Funk Brothers played on the session. Possibly priviously having plenty practice with the Four Tops "Tea House In China Town" and "Don't Turn Away", LP session, maybe so, maybe no? Dave

Jimmy Hart "Sugar Baby" Blue Rock 4035 - Help Requested
Hi Guys Just to throw some intrigue in to the subject. I've just asked Jimmy Holland about the above theory that he and Jimmy Hart are one and the same ? He claims to have knowingly never recorded under the name of Jimmy Hart and upon playing him "Tea House In China Town" he claims to have never heard the record before (not even The Four Tops LP version) and assured me that it wasn't him singing. He's quite aware of "Sugar Baby" on Syco and Markie, which he recorded for Andre Williams at United Sound. The plot thickens !! Dave

Tonite I Have Mostly Been ... Speakin To Lou Ragland
Soul Bowl was always a great supporter of Lou Raglands music, heavily importing his 70's outing on SMH "What Should I Do" which featured on his list as a front page special as did Lou's 1892 outing under the pseudonym of the Great Lales Orchestra "Didn't I Tell You" Dave

jesse fisher your not loving a beginner
In November of 1965 with the help of Lou Ragland, for of us now using the name of the "Soul Notes" signed for Lester Johnson's Way-Out Label. Although several tracks were recorded only two 45's were released"How Long Will It Last/Don't Make Me Beg" (Way-Out 101) and "How Long Will It Last/I Got Everything You Need" (Way-Out 106). The intended flip to "I Got Everything You Need" was a song entitled "I've Been Waiting For Love" which had been written by myself, John Washington and Riki Dannison. We had gone as far as recording it but for reasons which remained unknown to us the song was pulled and replaced with a re-release of "How Long Will It Last". "I've Been Waiting For Love" was later released under the different title of "Your Not Loving A Beginner" being recorded by Richard Fishers (Jive Five) younger brother Jesse, and with some of the original lyric's having been reworked by James Calloway. An extract taken from the Sleeve notes of the cover of Bill Spoon's "A Spoonful Of Soul" Soul Junction SJLP5003 album. Which Bill the former lead singer of the Soul Notes wrote himself. Bill also supplied us with a cut of the Soul Notes version of "I've Been Waiting For Love" a.k.a "Your Not Loving A Beginner" but unfortunately it was only a poorly recorded demo take with the backing band sounding as if they were playing in a building across the street hence the discision not to attempt to release it. P.S It a surprise that one of the leading soul scribe's hasn't already plagerized Bill's notes, they must be slipping Dave Soul Junction

John, wasn't that the multi-coloured release of Jesse Fisher on Way Out a legal re-issue done by Soul Bowl in conjunction with Lester Johnson (The owner of the WayOut Label )? Dave
