Edward Hamilton & The Arabians - 60's Detroit Acetate
With Cornelius playing Guitar on Hamilton's "I'm Gonna Love You" and penning the Arabian's "(Please) Take A Chance On Me" I would say kinda moonlighting. Yes I did ask him about Clifford Binns a very elusive see a previous thread about Clifford on here. As for Hendrix owning Lanrod initially he may well have done and sold the label name, masters and publishing outright to the guys in Florida. Dave

Edward Hamilton & The Arabians - 60's Detroit Acetate
During a conversation with Edward Hamilton , I raised the subject of their being two Lanrod releases of "Now You Have To Cry Alone" He claimed that Lanrod initially leased "Now You Have To Cry Alone/Temptation Of Love" from Hendrix but such was the popularity of "Now You Have To Cry Alone" in the Florida area that they later returned to Hendrix (who at that time was very disenchanted with the music business) and reputedlybought the masters to "I Love You So/Now I Have To Cry Alone" outright and re- released them on the Red Lanrod Label. The difference in the publishing credits on the Red label (IRP Music BMI) as opposed to (Mester BMI) on the Yellow Label would seem to support this theory. Dave

Legend? It's a damm good job he had a real legend (John Anderson) discovering and feeding him those records, because without John I somehow don't think the Searling eulogy would be so strong. Dave

News: Pete Lawson 1984 Letter To Blackbeat
Also the funk influence that is currently engulfing the scene, now Pete's thought's on Tommy Dent would have made some most interesting reading You could just imagine Pete on the rampage with all the brick-a-brac sellers in the record bars of today's scene, it would be even more entertaining than the night he punched Paul Franklin on the end of the nose at tht 100 club I wonder if badass Ady C would have revoked his lifetime ban with the passing of time Dave

Bobby Wade " Flame In My Heart " Big Jim
Wasn't Ady Pountain one of the earliest exponets of this tune Perhaps he could be persuaded to leave his potting shed at the bottom of his garden long enough to give us the low down. Dave
