selling our souls
I know what Jim means. It’s a bit cheesy to say the least. It may not be a flattering reflection of the NS scene but it’s arguably an accurate one in 2016.

Albums you would like to see on CD
Good call Mick. Headline News was huge nationally at the time. I've still got the UK 12"

Modern Soul time of year
Day to Day is brilliant. Is it his tribute to Herbie Hancock?

Top Motown Floorshakers?
Marvin Gaye - Where Are We Going (never mind the lack of 45)

Last track help
Pretty good selections by your man there. The Catalinas sounding very white and poppy but still has that northern feel

Modern Soul time of year
Not one for the dancefloor but I'm loving the Lady Wray CD - Queen Alone. Those of you that like that Daptone retro sound will love it.

which was your fave unreleased?
Lots of fantastic tunes on this thread. One yet to be mentioned is Ben E. King - Gettin' To Me.

EBay High Flyers - Most Valued Soul Records - October 2016
I think they are some great records in there. A surprising amount of crossover/modern too. I know there has always been some big ticket records of that ilk, but is more money being spent of them now? There’s quite a few I don’t know in that list but think the rest would actually make a good playlist for a night out.

I Have Never Liked
The Dynatones – Fife Piper has got to be the worst ever. Some bad records have grown on me with age but I still can’t stand this at all.

Kashif passed away
Far too young. RIP. He made some great music.

Modern Soul time of year
Did anyone like the recent Maxwell CD? Seven years since the last one and it was disappointing overall. Some good moments though like "All The Ways...."

Modern Soul time of year
As Mark quite rightly said, it's very soulful. It also includes some fantastic inspired cover versions of Stop On By and Turned Onto You. Gift of Love is my favourite tune of the year so far. This CD and his previous masterpiece, Eclipse, are arguably the best two of the decade so far. And I don't even really like house music these days

Modern Soul time of year
it's been a good year in terms of solid CDs that are very good all the way or most of the way through. I've particularly enjoyed Regina Belle, Anthony Hamilton (brilliant!), Charles Bradley, Zo!, Goldswagger, Kindred The Family Soul, Frank McComb and Shaun Escoffery. Some great reissues or compilations such as Garland Green, Alton McClain & Destiny and The Wonder of Stevie Vol 3. The winner, by far, is the fantastic double CD from Louie Vega. Absolutely unmissable and is a work of creative genius imo.

Gregory Porter in Concert
It was great. His current CD is one of the best I've heard this year.

RIP Billy. Bring The Family Back still sounds as good today as it did the first time I heard it.

Stephanie Mills - You Can't Run From My Love
Low in value, high in quality. My fave Stephanie Mills track. Personally I always play the 12"

Not odd really since it featured in an Adidas advert a few years ago with David Beckham in it.
