  1. How much for his Shrine release that's on Ebay at the moment?
  2. Today I bought the David Ruffin LP - Everything's Coming Up Love for the princely sum of £1 in the local RSPCA charity shop. What I want to know is, is the track Discover Me only available on a UK 7" not US 7"? thanks.

Sarcasm the lowest form of wit. but very funny.
  4. I can cos it's sh.....
  5. This is on the Kent, Gettin to Me Cd. Sounds to me like the same backing as runaway from you. Think I'd rather have the £350 myself.
  6. I've just seen in sales that Pete has sold that french ep by Tami Lynn. Has anyone got a soundclip of her runaway track from it? It's just that for £350 it must be amazing, because the any other tracks from her I've heard seem to be utter pants!
  7. Up there with Pete Smiths posting about getting some pizzas or dressing gown & slippers! But back to the original issue. To me it sounds like Rob Thomas (don't know him & have never met him) was just trying to stir it up or get one over on James. I've only spoken to James on a couple of occasions, the impression I got of him was this. He seems passionate about his music and he may come across as very opinionated, but he's not underhand about things and he's not at all conceited. All in all I found him to be a very pleasant chap. Perhaps James may have acted a bit rashly in the heat of the moment, but why is it he seems to be getting stick when the person who looks worse in this situation (Rob Thomas imo) seems to be getting overlooked. I mean if whenever I've introduced myself to anyone, I say who I am and why I'm introducing myself (i.e both members on SS) not I had your record 10 years ago and if I'm honest with myself jealous that your getting all the glory with it! I'll nail my colours to the mast and say "I'm with James on this one".

Any chance of a link to Brett's playlist, thanks.
  9. You can knock one of those scans off if you like. It's mine I tell ya....all mine. Hahahahahahahahahaha.
  10. Really cheesed off this weekend. I'm on lates this weekend and there's more do's on than you can shake a stick at! There's the Allnighter on the Isle of Wight with Moldie, Bearsy & the rest of the Anthill Mob, then there's Bisley with Chris Thorley guesting plus the modern room (which I stayed in all night last time it was on), there's Crossfire & Boogaloo up town, and further afield Saracens in Gloucester, Bidds Allnighter, Aquarius Allnighter, Paddington Bedford, Attic Club, Stafford Rangers FC, the list goes on & on just too many to mention! Even Mr. Tea is buggering off to the Allnighter in Valencia! I'm jealous of everyone who will be out this weekend dancing, drinking, talking rubbish and generally enjoying themselves whilst I'm stuck at work! If people can't find anything this weekend to suit their tastes then there's something wrong with them! To cheer myself up I've just had to buy a record using some of the wifes wages.
  11. I've just had to send two match tickets to my mate who's a postman in Chichester by special delivery. He said to send them that way so he got them before the strike!

Here's a scan of my copy, although slightly different label still an original.
  13. 6T17 - Mill Evans - Ain't You Glad / The Millionaires - I'm The One Who Loves You
  14. I bought Danny Moore for £35 off this site, (apologies but can't remember sellers name) seller said since he'd had it he'd had nothing but bad luck. The Royal Esquires I paid the princely sum of £30 at the last Solid Hit Soul.
  15. Also received mine today, many thanks.

What makes it worse is that you used to hear the Chris Clark side a lot more often than Gladys Knight!
  17. Record arrived this morning, thanks Mr Dog.
  18. Is he trying to get them done before Whitby next year?
  19. Didn't Trini die in a parachuting accident somwhere over France?
  20. If you click on their name, their profile shows up. This will tell you when they last visited the site, might then know if they've read pm's. I would seek assistance from Mike before naming and shaming, just incase he knows of multiple accounts and such like.
  21. If you go out as seldom as myself, then overkill isn't an issue. What I do find difficult to understand is when promoters put on an event on the same evening/night in the same town (or even 20 mile radius). In the past year this seems to be happening more and more. There has been a case of this recently in Bournemouth and last year Wellingborough. Surely this will just make attendances at both events smaller than they could have been. Which in turn makes those that have attended go home with a poor impression of either event. Thus making them reluctant to return to the next one. The main problem when two events being on at the same time is I feel putting punters in awkward positions. For instance they could be friends with both promoters and so instead of upsetting either of them they do not attend any event. Another issue I believe is that people are reluctant to travel. I know there are individuals who still travel the length and breadth of the country attending allnighters, but would they travel as far for a soul night? Then again is the allnighter crowd different to the soulnight crowd? As for what music gets played, that is down to the DJ's and those discussions can go on and on. You can't please all the people all of the time. Also as Bazza has stated he knows that the Ollerton promoter is a 100mph type, so without attending he has come to the conclusion that the night will not be to his liking, therefore it is unlikely he will attend (Bazza is entitled to his opinion and I have no qualms with him over it, just using it to show an example). How many other events suffer because of preconceived ideas? Rare soul event....load of chin strokers nobody dancing, Oldies event....loads of dancers in fancy dress, but predictable and repetitive playlists, R&B event load of old clip clop banjo music that no one can dance to, Modern event - load of old disco sh1te we want 60's! These are just my thoughts on the subject.
  22. I think you should edit this to include the words shopping centre. As i believe there was another event on in Wigan on the same night.

That must be some library, definately worth the fine if that CD becomes overdue.
