Couple On Ebay
I noticed the same thing with my auctions which ended earlier tonight. Despite some of them being in the $100-$350+ region, none of them showed up when I chose to have the results listed as "highest price+shipping first". I think it's due to some recent eBay changes and the fact that I haven't specified a shipping cost for any of my items, I always send out invoices by hand after the auctions have ended. Instead my expensive items showed up towards page 13/14 or so and with the "shipping price" column saying "not specified". I guess I'll have to start including the shipping costs when listing new items... I hope the above makes sense...

Only about 4-5 hours left on these auctions now. Thanks for looking! :-)

Mandrill - Too Late
Mandrill left Polydor in 1975 (for first United Artists and then Arista in 1977). "Too Late" is from 1978 so it would really surprise me if you have a copy of it on Polydor. Are you perhaps thinking of their "Never Die" from 1973 which is another tune that has been popular on the northern soul scene? Or "Fencewalk" or "Hang Loose"? All of those are on Polydor.

Wanted: Tim Whitsett/hank & Buzz - Still A Lot Of Love - Rim
I agree, it's an obscure 45, but £100 is optimistic. I sold a copy of it some years ago for £40, but it sat in the sales box for quite some time before it went.

Tip Of The Week
Played this earlier today at home right before heading off to work: Billy Stewart - What Have I Done - CHESS A superb and sadly neglected tune in my opinion and copies of the original 45 are littered all over the internet.

Would You Play These (at An R&b Type Do) Or Mod Do'
Yes, you're right. Richard Berry did by the way record the first versions of both "Louie Louie" and "Have Love Will Travel".

Fluff Freemans Top 25 70's Oldies
This is superb! Awesome ballad flipside as well.
-
Freddie North On Mankind
Check out his "I've Got To Hold Back" on A-BET as well, I think it's a superb punchy dancer. The original 45 is very rare, but the tune is easily available on the fine Kent CD "Uptown Down South".

Great 45s Issued Only On Reissue Labels
Yes, same tune.
-
Value Please - Tommy Ridgley - I Want Some Money Baby - Johen Demo
Craig Moerer has got 5 VG copies in stock at the moment at $40 each. Knowing his VG grade, a mint copy should go for about $60-$80. Was quite a hard 45 to track down a couple of years ago but copies seems to have turned up.

Great 45s Issued Only On Reissue Labels
Yes, the concept of this thread seems to confuse quite a few... "I Wanna Holler" is a truly monumental track in my opinion and I was extremely glad when I realised that it was issued on a legitimate 45.

Great 45s Issued Only On Reissue Labels
How about "I Wanna Holler (But The Town's Too Small)" by Gary U.S. Bonds? Only ever issued as the flipside on the 80s (or even 90s) Legrand "golden oldies" reissue of "New Orleans". Fantastic over-the-top kinda tune!

Wanted: Badder Than Evil On Buddah
Has anyone of you got a copy of Badder Than Evil - "Hot Wheels" - BUDDAH for sale? Please, PM me if so. Thanks in advance.

Larry Banks Family Album
I agree, it's a superb CD. Great liner notes as well (and as ususal from Kent/Ace). I'd also like to recommend the "Can't Be Satisfied - The XL And Sounds Of Memphis Story" CD which was released in the same batch. And the fabulous Main Ingredient "Singles 1967-1975" CD compiled by our very own Tony Rounce! Finally a decent compilation with The Main Ingredient (and it contains a couple of early Insiders tracks as well). And also, for those of you who are into that kind of stuff... the absolutely WONDERFUL "Gerry Goffin and Carole King Song Collection 1961-1967" CD which also was released very recently. These have all been released (we're selling them from the record store I work in anyway...) and should be available from pretty much everywhere. www.amazon.co.uk definitely have them.

Tip Of The Week
I totally agree, that George Perkins 45 is superb. I'd like to recommend "Then I Reach Satisfaction" by Eleventh Commandment on the FAST TRACK label. I like it a lot, it doesn't seem to be particularly well known and it's still cheap and easy to find copies of. Soundclip to follow.

Modern Soul Unknowns
I personally think this is a decent tune, but very 80s sounding and probably too 80s for a lot of people. Used to go for $50-ish, but several US dealers seems to have quantity of this so has dropped to about $20-$30 if eBay prices are anything to go by. She issued a rare LP on the Prince label as well: Have been told that she's a local Chicago cable TV-show host these days.
