  1. This might be of help: https://www.collectorsfrenzy.com/Details.aspx?id=250418865839
  2. For some strange reason I quite like the other Jonathan Capree 45 as well. It's very quirky though and would probably rub even more people the wrong way than "Gonna Build..." does!
  3. No, both the original and the bootleg are pressed on vinyl. It's a good counterfeit, and the person(s) that have made it have tried really hard to copy the original matrix details but have ofcourse failed. The way how to tell the two apart can be found in this post:
  4. The biggest reason for auctions not turning up in searches is probably because the "Maximise your listings visibility" box hasn't been clicked. If you list things on the .co.uk site and don't click that box (and pay the extra fee...) your auctions will not show up on the .com or .ca sites. If you list on the .com site and don't click it, your auctions will not show up on the .co.uk site. As suggested I'm sure there are other glitches in their search system as well, but this seems to cause a lot of confusion and missed opportunities. Below is what the box looks like on the UK and US sites (it is located on the last page before you "publish" your auction). UK: US:
  5. Pete, the Essence Of Love 45 you have is neither on Popsike nor in Manship's guide. The people you're talking to (except Dave) seems to be confusing it with the "Yes It's You" 45 which was released both as Eugene Smiley And The Essence Of Love and also as just Essence Of Love.
  6. Indeed, the boot guide is outdated. The only way to go at this point is the 5th edition of the price guide.
  7. The track "Independent Bahamas" by Biosis Now on that LP is also superb in my opinion.
  8. Odd indeed! The Cats were a band from The Netherlands. "Marian" gained a US release in 1970 on RARE EARTH, I guess that's why it turned up on turkish Tamla Motown. It's gentle soft rock. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiJUCY1GaLo
  9. Big thanks everyone for the suggestions! Really looking forward to this trip.
  10. Great tune indeed. There's a good version by Lee Moses as well (on his LP).
  11. If "by a few years" they mean 20+ years, then by all means! The gold labeled Four Voices 45 is from the mid-80's at the very earliest, probably more like early 90's. Regardless of its legality, the fact that it was done from the original plates or who reissued it... it's a totally worthless record to someone who collects original releases.
  12. 70s floaters hardly ever get any better than this. Top, top tune!
  13. Only 7-8 hours to go on these auctions now: https://shop.ebay.com/pushkings/m.html Thanks for looking!
  14. Released on both STRAIGHT AHEAD and A&M. Both sides are wild. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbfL1CYecKA
  15. There's now about 3 days left on these auctions: https://shop.ebay.com/pushkings/m.html
  16. Hello! I've listed a bunch of records on eBay. There are label/sleeve scans and soundclips to everything. Check them out at: https://shop.ebay.com/pushkings/m.html SOUL / FUNK / R&B 45s: Summits ("I'll Never Say No"), Billy Sha-Rae ("I'm Gone"), David Del Conte (widely unknown rarity!), Geminiles, Maurice McCormick, Sting-Rays, Johnny Nash, Admirations, Evie Sands, Blood Hollins, Pat Lundi, Al Hudson, Denise Lasalle ("Here I Am Again"), Lowell Fulson, Two Tons Of Love, All Points Bulletin Band etc. Thanks for looking! Take care. /Sebastian
  17. Sorry if I post this under the wrong heading. Didn't really know where to post it so it went here. Please mods, move the thread if you feel that it's out of place. Me and two friends of mine will be spending time in Memphis, TN during 13-25 October. It's my first time there, so if anyone has got any suggestions on nice places to visit, concerts to see, restaurants to eat at, locations to dig for records etc. I'd really appreciate any tips. Will be travelling around the area as well and will spend a day or two in Nashville as well plus will make it to Muscle Shoals for one day. It's not a record digging trip per se, but I will probably spend a couple of days going through whatever I might find. Big thanks in advance!
  18. There seems to be some confusion here. Their two 45s on COLUMBIA are as follows: Eddy Jacobs Exchange - Pull My Coat / Black Is Black - COLUMBIA 44821 Eddy Jacobs Exchange- Can't Seem To Get You Out Of My Mind / Love (Your Pain Goes Deep) - COLUMBIA 45174 The flipside to "Pull My Coat" is indeed a version of Los Bravos hit "Black Is Black". Much faster and more of a stomper than Los Bravos cut though.
  19. Most airlines allow hand luggage measuring 56 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm. The bags in the links above are 52 x 33 x 26 so should be OK unless that extra 1cm causes trouble?
  20. Elvis claimed to have been very influenced by Roy Hamilton's singing style so it kinda makes sense. Some info: https://www.elvisinfonet.com/presley_hamilton_spotlight.html Here they are together in 1969:

  23. There might very well be another Equals 45 on the label. I have no idea really, I'll keep my eyes peeled!
  24. This one? One of the most intense things released on the Shout label.
  25. "I Need You Now", as good and punchy as it is, sounds very disjointed/dischordant though. I think there is a bigger chance of the flipside "Still Burning In My Heart" to get spins on the northern scene. Their "Far From The Maddening Crowd" (written by Dan Penn and the flipisde to "I'll Take You Where The Music's Playing") is another one of theirs which seems to be picking up interest.
