Are you thinking about the TEE VEE label out of Pulaski, Tennessee? The releases I have (or have seen) have all got "A James Brown Productions Release" on the label. So it must've been linked to the J.B.P. PRODUCTIONS (James Brown Productions) label which also was located in Pulaski, Tennessee. Actually, it seems likely that TEE VEE changed its name to JBP. They share the same catalogue numbering system and a lot of the label credits. Skip August/August Brown was heavily involved in most of the releases. Like boba I also doubt that THE James Brown was involved, but "James" is not an unusual name and perhaps was only used to get some attention. I have no idea really. Looks like the re-issue to me. The original is easy to spot, it has got the "#CAL 200" text further down on the label. Compare below, ORIGINAL to the left and RE-ISSUE to the right:

The demos has got "I Need You Girl" on both sides.

His release on Atlantic is superb in my opinion.

There are more than 1000 releases in the 71000 series, stretching from 1956-1962. Is there anything specific that you need to find out? Let me know if so and I'll take a look.

Two issue copies sold on eBay in May and June 2009. They sold for $332 and $389. That's £225-ish. It sure is rare, but I see no reason for the price to have gone up with £475 since then.

The clip that Ken posted above is the Pat Boyack/Sweet Pea Atkinson version. I absolutely love the original 70s version.

My favourite tune by Cee-Lo is "Right Now" which he did back in 2006 together with Jack Splash under the band name The Heart Attack. I don't know if it ever got a proper release, but it was featured in a movie and appeared on a Gnarls Barkley promo CD-R. Have a listen:

Interesting that the upper left label scan reads From The Shadybrook album "Deeper and Deeper" While all the other scans has got the correct: From The Shadybrook album "Kellee"

Both the issue and demo exists with different time lengths. Was pressed at many different plants and with differing logo on the labels as well. See below: 5:08 length ISSUE & DEMO 3:06 length ISSUE & DEMO 3:06 length ISSUE (different design)

Does it exist on vinyl? Don't think I've ever seen one.
