  2. It was released in 1971. Seems to have been unknown to most people up until about 12-18 months ago. A year ago I managed to find 4 copies of it. I kept one, traded one and sold two for $460 (August 2008) and $513 (October 2008). I only have my own personal copy at the moment and it's not for sale. As has been stated previously, it does seem to have dropped a bit in price and a copy sold on eBay about a week ago for £205 ($310), but having said that... the dollar/pound ratio has changed quite a bit since August 2008, so it actually hasn't undergone that big of a change pricewise. Two good sides in my opinion.
  3. ...and Carl Douglas "Serving A Sentence Of Life" on United Artists issue?
  4. How about Mr. Dynamite "Sh'Mon" on Sue?
  5. Hard to put a price on. I've only ever seen one copy for sale (and that's the one I've got, I got it cheap off a US dealer listed in the "country" section... ). It's an incredibly hard to find 45 and seems to have been unknown to most people up until the last six months or so.
  6. It's inluded in my latest MP3 mix in case you'd like to hear it: /mix-2009-t102015.html By the way, he released a second 45 on Capitol as well.
  7. It's a reissue 7" from a couple of years ago on the ACID JAZZ label. The original issue was 12"-only on the ERECT label.
  8. Only about 5 hours left on these auctions now. Thanks for looking! :-)

  11. I think it's just a case of different pressing plants or a sudden lack of green labels at the plant. This must've been a really good seller, beacuse there are all kinds of label variations: green label styrene demo green label styrene issue green label vinyl issue (pressed by Chess) green label vinyl issue (pressed by ABC) pink label styrene issue
  12. I just did an A/B comparison and made a file with the Hott Ice track in the left speaker and the Chain Reaction track in the right speaker and made them start at the same time. They sound exactly the same.
  13. As far as I can hear, the Hott Ice and Chain Reaction releases of "Search For Tomorrow" on BLUE WAVE are the exact same recordings. The "Dance Freaks" side of the Hott Ice 45 was also recorded by Chain Reaction in a very different (and in my opinion superior) version as "Dance Freak" on a 12" on the SOUND OF NEW YORK CITY, USA label.
  14. I hope it will be back online soon, but until then old versions of that website can be found here: https://web.archive.org/web/20080208140656/...recordings.com/
  15. Don't think there is a "going rate" as such for this record. Manship auctioned a copy a couple of months ago and got £347 for it. I sold a copy for £125 about a year ago. People living in Italy will without doubt have much more luck finding copies of this 45 than people outside of Italy...
  16. It's only available as a 7" on that italian release. In the US it was only issued on her "Explosion!" LP on Alston (#4402). NOTE that she also recorded a later different version of this tune on another Alston LP (#4410, "Betty Travelin' In The Wright Circle").
  17. Every now and then I put together a mix of sounds I like a lot and play at Club Function, a club night which I organize once per month together with my friends Helena, Jonte and Joppe in my hometown of Malmo, Sweden. Below you will find my eight and latest mix. 18. "Very Last Drop" is mentioned in a PRELUDE discography as having been issued on a US 45 as: Bobby Thurston - Very Last Drop / Is Something Wrong With You - PRELUDE 8027 But I've never seen a copy of that combination of sides. I actually think it's a misprint, because all copies of PRELUDE 8027 that I've found have had this combination of tunes: Bobby Thurston - I Really Didn't Mean It / Is Something Wrong With You - PRELUDE 8027 "I Really Didn't Mean It" is ofcourse a good tune as well, so that's not too bad. The flipside of the UK Epic release, "Life Is What You Make It", wasn't issued on 7" in the US.
  19. Yes, I was at the premiere here in Sweden. A very good documentary and well worth watching.
  20. The identity of the singer for this tune has never been confirmed. Sounds a bit like King Coleman to me, but "mispressed Tommy Andre 'One More Try' on BROADWAY" is what I call it... The real "One More Try" tune by Tommy Andre sounds NOTHING like this.
  21. This is F.J. Jones "Put It On The Line Girl" on the PS label. Superb tune.
  22. It's a US recording and it was issued on a 7" in the US on Capitol in 1974. Both mono/stereo demos and regular issues were released but it seems to be a very rare record. I've got a copy but it's not for sale. Mark Capanni indeed wrote the tune but the Jackson Sisters version was issued first (in 1973).

  24. A very rare funk record at a seriously decent price, but you probably should put up "part 2" instead as it has got more punch to it and doesn't have the wind/earthquake sounds.
