  1. My view of Tiede right now... Ed

Agreed Not a lot of UK folks would know what Secretariat was at the racetrack.. Secretariat was an American Thoroughbred racehorse who, in 1973, became the first Triple Crown winner in 25 years. His record-breaking victory in the Belmont Stakes, which he won by 31 lengths, is widely regarded as one of the greatest races of all time. Ed
  3. Most paid £10 Ronnie Forte Most sold £200 Ujima Twas a while ago though.. Ed
  4. Very public spirited handing over 20% VAT to spreadsheet Phil on that new car and camera. Average depreciation is 50 % over 3 years on a new standard car, when you come to sell or trade. 25% tax free lump sum is only tax free if you don't spend it! The vultures get it all back in the end! Ed
  5. I know, he seems to have sprung up from nowhere.... Anybody would think he has wrote a book or two on the subject of prices, owned a record shop, and DJd at Cleethorpes back in the day. Probably makes pork pies in his day job, coming from Melton Mobray:) Ed
  6. A horse, a horse, my Kingdom for a horse... A rare tune, a rare tune, my pension for a rare tune. Nowt much changes does it:) Ed
  7. I'm not sure if 45rpm single vinyl discs are even sold today outside special editions of one kind or another, but they would surely retail around a tenner? A 50 year old original single must surely then have trebled in price simply because of its ever decreasing numbers available. Of course all logic goes out of the window when popularity takes hold. I remember back in the day when seven day lover sold for a lottery win at one point. Ed
  8. The ' Love Generators ' appeared on a few Oscar Perry tracks...maybe the Peri tone house band? Ed
  9. Start looking for Monasteries closer to home that can produce very strong beer that tastes ok... and it's a shame because there used to be plenty before Henry the 8th got his knickers in a twist. Bloody religion and politics.....have a lot to answer for... Anyway here's an update on stock levels. Ed
  10. And to celebrate if all ends well... Party size..
  11. Action speaks louder than words. In case of a sudden increase in import duty on Belgium medicinal beer, I thought I better stock up... Ed
  12. No wonder he could write and sing the blues! Fame Famine Redemption culminating in the last Album. The first rapper no less. RIP Andre Ed
  13. People who own the £123.45 record and bought it for £1.23......back in the day...won't complain. % commission sites won't complain by prices inflated via dodgy dealers. More money for them. Remember the youth who traded the family cow for magic beans, just got lucky! All part of the game I guess, knowledge and a slight of hand is power and profit. Ed
  14. So sad...RIP The great performer Ed
  15. Skip to 1minute 22 seconds and figure this out:) Artistic genius? Ed
  16. The middleman always wins... Ed
  17. I've said it before and I'll say it again... Auctions are different animals to normal trading. Folks get caught up in a fight to win. The prize is sometime irrelevant, but the satisfaction of winning beats all. Saw a guy once bid £2k for a pair of unworn Ricky Hatton sky blue boxing gloves whilst slightly tipsy, just to say he won. You can imagine the moans the following day. Set sales with offers considered are far more realistic. Ed
  18. I was out last night and tried to see If another woman could satisfy me... Bla bla bla But I couldn't kiss the girl to save my soul because I need you... Priceless Ed
  19. If only I would have hung on with selling my records 35 years ago... Ringleaders was a pound record. Hundreds turned up. Gloria & the Tiaras four quid straight off soul bowl. Must be hundreds of serious collectors, if not thousands. Long may it continue. Ed
  20. Not bad, but not in Towanda class. Lucinda is a bit too polished on this song, but I've heard others by her that pack a bit more emotion. Ed
  21. Drowned yourself in the variety.. It's a bit too niche for me... Ed
  22. Priceless. What a tune. It's got everything . Class, rarity, obscurity, and it stops and starts all over the place. Was it a Mecca play? Up until a few years ago I'd only ever heard of the four sonics on sepia. Ed
  23. On the subject is this towanda/tiwinda/gloria on vocals? Could be based on the same record, truth be told!
  24. Simply it is unique. It reaches the parts other tunes can't reach. Bugger to dance to though. Priceless. Ed
  25. Are Gloria and Towanda one and the same? Is the A&M issue a reissue? Ed
