Ted Massey Robbery Records Stolen
Been struggling to put into words my thoughts on this, it must have been an horrendous ordeal for Ted to endure, thankfully he was not hurt. Hoping that they catch the culprits and the records are returned to their rightful owner as soon as possible. I have a lot of respect for Ted and others with collections of this calibre, their willingness to bring them out and play them for all of us to enjoy at functions up and down the country so that we can get to hear and dance to these wonderful tunes on their original format.

Mighty Lovers - Aint gonna run no more
Thanks for the replies, I thought this was the case, it was something that I would have picked up in the 70's for less than a pound. Just thought I would double check on its' authenticity.

Following the Music Not the Crowd
That was great fun, I thoroughly enjoyed playing to a room full of people who were open to hearing soul music of all types and genres. Big thanks to Kev asking me to DJ, especially as I am sure he had never heard me do so before 😉 We had a great night and looking forward to seeing you all in March 👍

Terry Hall RIP
I loved the Two Tone output, and have a fair few singles from the label, a real favourite was Nite Klub which has one of my all time favourite lyrics "I wont dance in a club like this, all the girls are slags and the beer tastes just like piss" RIP Terry

Following the music NOT the crowd
I decided to brave the wintery conditions and venture up to Congleton again, I love what the guys are trying to do, it makes a refreshing change to hear something other than the usual run of the mill stuff. This is a smashing venue, the bar prices are reasonable, the heating was on, and the PA has a clarity that allows the music to be enjoyed without any breakup or distortion. The regular lads all kept me entertained and guest Tim Ashibende enlightened us with his wealth of knowledge and excellent choice of music. This is certainly worth a visit.

Guest DJ Butch FTMNTC
Well done all responsible what a great evenings entertainment that was, £5 for two hours of Butch absolute bargain in my book, and hats off to the supporting DJ's for an evening of enlightenment. I knew a handful of the tunes played, I liked a lot of the tunes that I did not know, and there were a couple I was not sure about, but that was not an issue to me. It was a great turnout and a friendly and welcoming crowd. It was great to meet a few people I had not seen for too many years, so all in all a very enjoyable night.

Hello from Peter of the 99
Great to have you back on the forum Peter It is great to read that you have come to terms with this and have had the courage to write about your experience on the forum which will go some way to raising awareness, and hopefully help someone else experiencing the same emotions. There is help available out there, and anyone feeling this way should not feel embarrassed about contacting their GP or at the very least speaking to a friend, it is amazing what a difference it makes speaking to somebody. All the best Martyn

Dave Hulmes RIP
Sad to report that modern soul DJ Dave Hulmes from Wolverhampton passed away in the early hours of this morning. Dave was a good friend of ours, a regular on the modern soul scene and our gardener. It was a big shock when he called around a few weeks back to tell us he had stage 4 cancer. He was a good friend, and will be greatly missed by Carol and I. Rest peacefully dear friend Martyn & Carol x

CULCHETH with CARL & MARIA WILLINGHAM
Anyone catch Bob's spot last night 😉 Shame if you didn't, it will go down in Northern folklore, a thing of legend, in years to come it will be said it never happened, that nothing could have been that good. See you tomorrow boys

Sorry Dave I hadn't registered what Smiffy had said to me until later when we were leaving, you look much younger than your avatar 😄 Cheers Ian 👍, I will make sure I get a card with a badge on next year ... if they go up that high. Sorry I missed your set, but it was a long drive home and I was way past my bedtime Thanks Alison, it was a fun night thanks x
