Yep would have to agree full heartfelt on this one there are however two aspects on this ,out and out DJs whom have delved into there hard earned cash record boxes do my fcuking head in were putting a modern night on.....no Cdjs, no USB,no tablet,laptop 3/4 of the modern scene is now made up of digital media not vinyl unfortunately, which is a shame so you then get deprived of hearing the latest or digital stuff never put out on the plastic stuff so yep think the days when it crosses over to the northern room are slowly dying a slow death ( hooray say some ) but then we have ......carvers

Isn't it just really a carried on genre from the jazz-funk/disco era at as it was called back in the day ,Eddie Holman ,brainstorm,silvetti, curtis ,which were played at both venues ie Wigan/ritz/mecca but crossed over from the origins of the afore mentioned as today as previously mentioned angie stone which has done the rounds in both rooms,for me though MODERNDoes not get played in the northern rooms you can shove the likes of tribute,standing on solid etc and keep em in the northern quarter, check out Tom Moulton's remixes,opolpopo ,dimitri from Paris as an example THAT IS modern soul ...back to me bunker now

Whilst only 19 in 78i first went in 76,but with remarks in an early thread about a bloke with a pipe,in 78-79 trevor ( my mums boss pharmacist) and no he didn't do gear,used to take me and my girlfriend here he was mesmorised by the cas club,he never danced he just stood there with his pipe and watch,wander around to Ms at the time I would say he was at least 50 downside he didn't wear glasses ,not only that wasn't Mrs woods the oldest there ??
