  1. Sorry, I meant Henry of Atkinson
  2. Isnt that Wants List from Howard who produced the Soul Up North magazine? Why are we knocking a collector putting up a wants list on his web-site? I wouldnt say he has never had a bargain , I was buying 45's off him 10 years ago?

  8. US shipping has been getting worse lately. How about 12 days from Michigan to Toronto?? I can drive to the US border in 3 1/2 hours?

  10. Yes, Monday night at the Roundabout in Gloucester, Jazz Funk nights.
  11. Another Canadian seller has just started listing Dean Barlow and the Paul Smith. One based in Whitby, the other in Scarborough which are about 20 mins apart?
  12. Just having a play with the records I have bought over the last couple of weeks and found a spare copy of Baby, Do The Philly Dog but when checking condition noticed that the darker blue labelled one has " Available in USA and Canada only " at 3:00? Has anyone seen this on a Mirwood before? Is it a re-issue? What does it mean - apart from the clever sod's who will say it means it is only available in USA and Canada!!!
  13. Just got back from London, Ont record show and having a sort through. Bought these on the off chance for $2.50 each: Otella and the Overtures - Canadian Columbia, in Kop's book for 75 quid? Did this get played? Bennie Anderson and the Teals - Sugar Girl - King promo - not bad mid-tempo early 60's dancer. Anybody know this?
  14. I should be seeing the seller at the London, Ontario Record Show on Sunday. I will ask him.
  15. Hey Mark It would be interesting to know if you get any feedback from them re. cancelling accounts? How many other people have done this on here? Wonder how many it will take before the notice a trend. Saw an interview with one of the top eBay bods regarding price increases a few weeks ago and basically said number of people listing stuff is going up but amount of items unsold is rising?
  16. Definately alive, saw her in Toronto last tear, well the ticket said it was her!?!
  17. Has anybody bought on-line from these guys? I saved a 45 yesterday and received an email, not an invoice, today telling me to send CC details in 2 seperate emails, pretty standard but hen I started thinking this could be anybody. When you buy from Craig Moerere, John Manship etc you usually get a proper invoice emailed to you. Any info gratefully received.
  18. I was there for Hitsville in the summer, looked in the Yellow Pages, as you do, and Record Shop pages had been ripped out!!! I think that says it all really.
  19. Arnie j Graham is indeed a top man, I used to go to Bishops Cleeve Academy for Young Gentlemen, sorry Cleeve Comprehensive with him and also know his young brother Andy and his sister. I meant nothing by my comment just wondered how the "infamous" tag came about. I believed he moved to the grim north many years ago and I cant remember the last time I saw him, and I am also now living in Canada.
  20. Is that infamous Graham Barber as in Graham Barber originally from Cheltenham?
  21. I sometimes wonder if it is worth selling albums on ebay at all. I have to charge $15 for air shipping to Europe and I am positive it puts buyers off. But how else do you sell them? I heard yesterday that Canada Post's costs are going up again on the 15th!!
  22. My thoughts exactly Pete. Surely he may have gone too far now?
  23. Amnesiarecords are back on e-bay selling mock-ups of Barbara McNair and Monitors TMG red and white demo's. Buy it now 9.99.
  24. Was it officially released on a Kit Kat 7 inch or did i dream that? I dont think it was an official release, I seem to remember it being a 7" with 2 tracks on the other side? I also seem to remember a white vinyl copy as well? I plumped for the 12' with 10? tracks on it, including this one and other un-released Detorit stuff but cant remember label name
  25. I took the trouble and strife to see this New Years Eve and I have to agree with Pete S. I was under the impression it was based on The Supremes story even in the Musical Stage Show days. There were some superb "mock up's" of Dreams album covers which were direct copies of Supremes covers. There were a lot of Motown similarites - Group was called Dreamettes - Supremes were Primettes etc etc but it did also plough its own furrow with Detorit riots, chittlin circuit etc etc as Maverick mentioned. All in all a good way to spend a couple of hours and Jennifer Hudson's - Im Telling You is nearly as good as Jennifer Hollidays.
