I think i remember where this was from it was not a film piece , but a interview i think on SoulGuy radio with T im Ashenbende talking about the artists he had met. Her real name was Gardenia Barnes. Sorry for any confusion .

Almost certain i,ve seen a film piece on the web talking to i either Dena Barnes daughter or sister which confirmed she was dead . Think the said piece was about Duke Browner and his productions , can,t remember where the fook it was though.

Best Soul Albums
My all time fave LP is DORIS DUKES I,M A LOSER . Awesome LP but not for the faint hearted , as a LP collector there are hundreds of LPS i keep going back to but even though i,ve owned the DORIS DUKE LP since the seventies it still moves me to this day . Great songs , great singer , great production pure DEEP SOUL perfection .
