  1. one-upmanship has been a driving force in this scene since the very beginnings. Based on that it's only logical to try to source records nobody else (or hardly anyone else) has. And this is where the focus on rarity comes into (IMHO).
  2. This is obviously a fake seller. Fake sellers are a well known problem for/on Discogs. There's even a thread in the user forum to report fake sellers: https://www.discogs.com/de/forum/thread/978013 Please report there. Update: seller darrellgonser already reported as scam 4h ago. However apparently there are still 32 records for sale.
  3. I sold an EX copy of this for 200 back in april. Quick internet research indicated that a M- copy should be 250/300 max. As I type there are 2 issues and 4 copies for sale on Discogs.
  4. Pretty sure it was "Universal Soul Radio Edit". it's a edit of the universal soul mix and with 3:34 running time fits nicely on a 7".
  5. Excellent track. But it's not the first time it came out on 7". It came out as flip to on the bootleg of Melvin Moore - All of a sudden back in the 90s.
  6. You're asking €400 for a Sam Fletcher bootleg? https://www.discogs.com/de/sell/item/2258190727
  7. Excellent track. This will have a physical release in just a few weeks. His debut album is due mid august or early september from what I rememeber.
  8. Here you are.
  9. Excellent mix of old tunes and recent releases, soul, reggae, r&b and even some "foreign" language cover versions. Looking forward to the next one! 👍
  10. Funny you say that. Sorry to say but there are also many original artists that make a mockery of the tunes they recorded back in the 60s when they do a live gig nowadays.
  11. Sites like Bandcamp are full of countless number of high quality new releases available only as digital download.
  12. They used mood mosaic as theme from 68 on. Even re-released it on 45 due to the popularity of Beat Club.
  13. Yep, that’s the one!
  14. Was used as theme tune for German TV show "beat club" from 1968 on. Later als for another show but forgot its title. Btw, flipside of orig 45 "bond Street “ is a great mod/r&b instrumental.
  15. I‘m looking for a at least VG+ copy of Andre Cruz & Chris Lujan - Can I call you rose - LBR/Black Diamond 45 Please PM. Many thanks!
  16. Big spin on the mod scene 20 years ago
  17. sorry for hijacking, just wondering, are you chess1458 (aka Mike) on Insta?
  18. for what it's worth I seem to recall that it was played a couple of times on Richard Searling's Jazz FM show back in the early 2k's. Did he own one of the acetates back then?
  19. Last night in a hotel's Restaurant just outside of Stirling: Lots of Northern classics, original versions and obvious rerecordings. Maybe not that unusual to any British. But didn't expect it. Nice way for the missus and me to kick off a two weeks holiday in Scotland. Kids didn't like it though 😉
  20. BIG DADDY RUCKER - JEALOUS MAN - GME - £275 NOW £250 (incl. signed for postage!) Recent funky in demander. Record in lovely EX condition. No flaws. Can also send fully insured at extra cost. Youtube vid for reference (not taken from record!) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Payment Paypal only. 21. From what I recall: US UA boot has the 70s UA layout, i.e. 70s UA logo on top. 60s UA was on the left.
  22. I agree. Label made up Even though the picture is very blurry, the writer and producer credits look very similar to the ones on "If I had known".
  23. Oh yes. Summer of soul. How could I forget it. Excellent choice. I nominate the Nina Simone documentary from 2015 "what happend Miss Simone"
  24. Not from me i'm afraid, I'm not that much of a movie fan apart from Star Wars (excl. episodes 1-3). But I'm going to try and watch some of the movies that have been nominated so far.
  25. There are a number of cover versions, Dionne Warwick, Maxine Brown, Freddie North, Tommy Hunt, Brenda & The Tabulations. Each one is good in its own right but none come close to Big Maybelle IMO.
